Buddy and I are planning an escape from Michigan for late February.  Got a motel reserved up in Moody, AL for three days of fun.  I'm asking for suggestions on routes or local folks willing to get together for a weekend day ride.  Dates and times are in the original post.  Looking at google maps and mapsource, I see Route 25 east out of Barber looking interesting and leading into other areas of twisty goodness.    Help out if you can, join us if you want.

25 is a lot of fun.  It has been heavily patrolled by local LEOs lately.  Watch out for the hairpin it is tricky.

Cheaha State Park east of Birmingham has some great roads and scenery.

I'll try to remember to check back with the thread, maybe a couple guys and I will ride up to meet up with you.

Bump for two weeks out.  I found a good deal on a cheap room in Vestavia Hills at the Baymont Inn, so we moved the reservation.

Can you get out on the track??  That would be a damn fine adventure all by itself!

I read your post thinking you were possibly coinciding the visit with a trackday. But I see the earliest are:
March 10-11 with Sportbike Track Time and March 24-25 with Pete at X-Act. Pete is a great guy and doesn't charge membership fees.

Track days are usually ~ $250/day.  Tape, leathers (maybe a Roadcrafter for the beginner group), etc. required, too.  They might require new rubber since yours will have 1000 miles on it.

Lol  The current set of PR2s on the bike is nearing 10k.  I have all the proper track gear, but these tires are not getting changed just to get out on the track.  Yet.  I can live without going fast in circles next weekend.  We're going to do a couple hundred mile loop on Friday, Montezuma, GA for a LD riders lunch on Saturday and visit Barber on Sunday.
