Just picked up an '06, and knocked out the miles to first service in two rides (actually went 120 over Crazy )... sweet friggin' ride, but I have one really big bitch, the headlights SUCK Angry3 . The High beam is kid of a joke, but that can be improved with a PIAA upgrade. The big problem is the lows, they are so tightly focused that any lean angle at all has you leaning into the dark... discovered this while riding home in the rain to boot EEK!

So assuming some of ya'll have run into the same problem, have you found any good mods? I plan on adding some 1100 fork mounts regardless for "be seen" sake, they may help some, but an altrenate set of lenses or some such for the low beams would be great. I don't see any great options for high mounting any lights like what I have on the ST1300 (seng/910's), so I'm hoping to be able to get it right making the mods to the lamps.

Have you tried adjusting them?

give me a break dude... moved them about every way from sunday. the clipping at the top of the beam is really abrupt, moving them up, down and around doesn't help that at all.

I agree with your assesment that they are way too tightly focused.  I have done nothing to remedy the situation however.

As far as being seen goes, I believe them to be better than any bike I have ever ridden.  The outter rim of the bulb creates some type of prism effect which many cages seem to mistake for emergency vehicle lights.

mine are ok.. Has you bike start to sag in the back? That shoot it out a little more (once the bikesettles down in the back)  I like the lights and do not have a problem with them.

Mine are fantastic going in a strait line on an even cline... that is all three of those we have in NH Lol. I've taken to extreme high adjustments, but it doesn't compensate for the extremely sharp, thin, vert. nature of the beam that at any angle is only hitting the road directly in front of the bike... useless in corners. And remember, I'm in the middle of nowhere without the bennefit (?) of any artifical ambient lighting from an urban domain.

I admit to being a little spoiled with the set up I've put together on my ST13, but these things are bad, like my 1990 CB750K lights were better in these conditions outta the crate.
