Phone and radar detector thru a Belkin Rockstar
«

I want to use my phone for calls and music while being able to hear a radar detector go off thru my helmet. My phone is a Blackberry Bold 9650. I think I can plug both the phone and radar detector into a Belkin Rockstar and I should be able to hear both thru my earbuds. I want to hear the detector over the tunes and expect I can increase the volume for that to work? This appears too easy; what am I missing?

I tried the Rockstar, found it basically useless.
I'd look at some other options like the Mix-it or something similar.
The Chatterbox X1 works well for me, and was dirt cheap.

I use one for my radar detector, XM radio and GPS. I run my phone through my Scala Q2 via BT. The MP3 cord from the Scala plugs into the Belkin Rockstar for the three devices. I have no issues with this setup and have been using it for many years.
Your issue will be that you will not be able to take calls on you phone pluged in as the Belkin will not support the mic.

I have one as well. Run my Valentine 1, iPhone, and Zumo 660 through it. I adjusted the volumes to just where I wanted on each device and have no issues. Of course, like the previous poster said, you won't be able to make calls, I just use mine to hear music, radar alerts, and course changes from the GPS and it works fine for that.

If you're devices all have Bluetooth, you can use a Sony Ericsson MW600 bluetooth receiver to integrate and prioritize 3 bluetooth feeds. Works great and wireless is the cat's meow.

Thanks guys, that is what I wanted to know. I am not worried about talking on the phone. I don't know any radar detectors that transmit via bluetooth. I was wondering about plugging everything into a Rockstar and an audio dongle that transmits bluetooth to my helmet. Right now I don't have a bluetooth receiver and use noise cancelling MEE earbuds. I am not sure what to use inside the helmet either. Again, thanks for the help.
