Hey you with the face! Smile

I was riding a grey CBR1100XX with an HID light and a Givi trunk and I followed you to town around lunchtime today. Even though I've lived here for 6 years, I havent' done much street riding until very recently, so I don't know a lot of the roads. You showed me that road that comes out on Old Fort Hwy...thanks! I wouldn't normally post trying to find some random guy, but this guy seemed to me to be a ST.N type of guy...bright flashing aux brake light on lic plate frame, quick and competent with no histrionics, all geared up, etc.

Anyway, I don't know anyone around here who rides...if that ride had gone on for about 10 more miles you'd be my best friend! Bigsmile  Hit me up, maybe we can do more lunchtime loops...I work at home, and am making a habit out of going for a ride at Lunch...I live in La Vergne on the South/West side of 24.

Sorry if this isn't appropriate here...the guy struck me as someone who might see this here.

Diet, if you are interested I am riding tomorrow. Meet up is at the Royal Farms in Felton, DE. I will be leaving there at 9AM.  Google map Felton and you will see where 12 and 13 intersect. The Royal Farms is on the SW corner of that intersection.  Others have been invited, but I do not know how many will show.  The ride will be out around the eastern shore, playing some tag games in the process. There will most likely be a stop at Pannera Bread in Easton at some point and we will be back in the Dover area by 2PM or so.

Tag games if you are interested

Thanks for the post, but that's about 800 miles one way, and I only have a few hours of riding time available. I will follow some threads though, as this is not always the case.

Smyrna and Murfreesboro here but the VFR was in the garage today and no FJR in the stable. Was a glorious day to be out and riding today but I had crap to haul to work.  Thumbsdown

I am just north of Nashville  but always up for a ride.  The next few weeks are going to be bad, but once Feb rolls in I should be good to go.

Was the road he showed you Almaville Road? If you turn left from there, heading back toward Murfreesboro, you'll come across Cycle Concepts about a mile on the left, which is a great shop for having work done. Turn right and you'll reach Triune, and from there you there you go South to some really nice little roads.

It was Rocky Fork Rd. He turned left where it becomes Rocky Fork/Amlaville Rd. and we followed Rocky Fork all the way to Old Nashville Hwy (that's what I meant to say earlier, not Old Fort).

I might go for a ride today around 11, and go that same way. it's a little bleak outside at the moment...haven't decided yay or nay yet.

Gotcha. Other excellent (unfortunately too brief) roads in that area are Del Thomas and Paw-Paw Springs. If you're feeling adventurous, head down 41A and then ride 269. You can stop at Bell Buckle for lunch, or go all the way to Tullahoma. Better yet, from Tullahoma jump over to 130 and ride all the way down to Cowan and have lunch at Sirnicola's (prepare for artery clogging goodness). Once you've made it that far, might as well write of the rest of the day and ride over Monteagle Mountain.

Be careful on Paw-Paw, there is a good bit of gravel and washout on that road. I binned my Bandit on that road a couple years ago. I have not been down it in a long time though. Del Thomas is nice even if it is short. I live off Rock Springs and often take Rock Springs, Cook, Rocky Fork, Almaville, ect to work and back.

Yeah, that's a good point. Seems to always be a new home going up in the area to cause some debris.

Stewart Creek Road is also good for a short run.

Jason it sounds like we're just about neighbors. I live in the Woodland Hills subdiv off Waldron Rd. Google Brushy Ridge Dr. ...that's where I am. Seems like we have the makings of at least some weekend meetups in this thread eh?

4 miles by google maps. I am over in Potts Crossing behind Rock Springs Park and the short bit of greenway attached to it. It looks like we could easily pull pull together at least a coffee meet if not a good dinner gathering every once in a while. I have seen your forum nickname on something else local, maybe the Nashville Sportbike meetup page. I keep up to date with that group but do not often ride with them. I am sort of a "my own pace (slow) solo" ride type of fellow.

I'm checking with a friend of mine that rides a blue FJR with white stripes that lives in Etowah, TN.  He's around that area a lot and knows all the good roads.  Smyrna is just a couple hours from him and it wouldn't surprise me if that was him you saw.

I'm not on any other local stuff (yet) but I used to be on WERA a lot, and use this nic on all sorts of other forums...car stereo stuff, cbrxx.com, poker forums, etc. You may have seen me in any of those.

Ya I'm with you re: the group ride thing. I've lived here almost 7 years now, and I haven't looked into any of the meet up stuff. That said, making new friends and going for rides with them is a different thing to me than meeting a bunch of people at a gas station and then all going on The Ride Of The Day or whatever. I'm all about the former...not so much the latter.

I didn't see white stripes, but it's possible. This guy was maybe late 40's or early 50's judging from what I saw in the eye port of his Hayden rep Arai. the way he was riding I really got the impression that he was local (he headed towards residential stuff eventually).

WERA forums I am sure then. I am on there although I have not been active in a while. I still have dreams of dragging a vintage bike out there to race with the old farts but life, money, and other aspirations keep me from doing it. My goals for this year are to run a 5k, a 10k,  run a half marathon, do at least one more IBA ride, and put 10k miles on the bike touring. It is going to be a busy year.

I have some electrics on the way but they won't be here in time. I'm too lame to go on a several hour pleasure ride when it's in the 40's without them. How lame? I'm from The North and I still wuss out under 50 for more than a commute. That's why I decided to finally buy my first electrics...to overcome my lameness Smile

Keep posting though...would love to go on some rides with folks.
