Here's the scoop- I parked my B12 last about 1.5 months ago.  After a few days, I noticed it was leaking some gas, so I drained the tank.

Just now I went to start it up, change the oil, and add some stabilizer to the fuel tank to get in the carbs.

I started and ran it for a bit, and heated it up easy and good (with a fan blowing on it), then drained the oil.

Zoinks!  Gas in the oil!   Crazy

I measured it out- likes like a bit over a quart of gas in there.  I'm guessing the vacuum operated petcock didn't close properly allowing fuel to run into the carb.  Give me a stuck or leaking float, and she slowly drains down into the oil over the previous month or so.

My plan is to run some cheap dino oil in it for a bit, drain that, then change the filter and put in the Mobil1.

Sound reasonable?  I don't think it did any damage- it only ran for a few minutes after a nice easy warm up.

What say ye experts?

Old habit of shutting off the petcock regardless of vaccum activation, it should become a new habit for you.

What I dislike is bikes without a petcock Crazy

It doesn't have an "off" setting.  Just regular, prime, and reserve.  I do miss the days of regular petcocks with an "off" setting.

Just run whatever oil you normaly run.  Any damage that was going to be done is done (and there probably wasn't any).  Any tiny amount of gas that remaines when you drain the oil will burn off/evaporate the first time the bike gets up to temperature.

No worries. Proceed as normal after changing the oil.

You're gonna have to get a handle on the leaky petcock and whichever carb/carbs have the leaking float valve.

Mixing gas with oil was SOP on the Eastern Front in WW2 . Back then lubricants could not deal very well with those extremely low temperatures ,,,,,,,,,,,

Just change oil and don`t worry about that .

I usually go to my neighbor's back yard after dark, dig a hole, pour it in, and bury it.  He has been trying to get the oil companies out for about a year now- figures he has a Jed Clampett moment on his hands.   Lol

Although it actually looks like this:

It's not the big ones that are a problem.

It's the little old common ones.
