I've been away from home since the end of Aug and am finally going to get R&R at the end of March (barring Iran starting any shit or a civil war starting in Iraq or any number of other things in the region).   So far we have a suite booked at the Great Smokeys Lodge in Sevierville starting on the 20th of March. Yes, I know it farther away from the Tail and other rides but given the time of year if the weather is shit there is more to do in the area. The lodge has an indoor water park.

We plan on trailering the bikes down then do day rides from there.  This is the first time that my wife will be riding down there. She just started riding last year and has been putting in a lot of miles since she started. It's funny at first I had to push her to ride but once she got comfortable on the bike she's the one who wanted to ride everywhere all the time. She even rode to work yesterday in 30 degree weather and she doesn't even have proper cold weather gear yet!!!!   Inlove

Anyone going to be in the area then let me know (Reaper).   Plan on taking on the Dragon and Moonshiner 28 one day and hope to make it up to US421 "The Snake" another. Possiblely a stretch of the BRP another. I'm just hoping we get some good weather.

Weather will be a crap shoot although late March is starting to think about spring down there. Still could be snowing in the mountians then too, so you'll just have to see what cards you're delt when the time comes.

Thank you for your service and have a great trip!

I live in NKY/Greater Cincinnati though the past 3 years I haven't spent much time there. In the preceding 36 months before I came over here I was only home a total of 16 months (not even half of the time).

I know about the weather that is why we are trailering the bikes down and staying in an area where there is more to do in the evening/daytime if the weather is crap. I'll ride in just about anything. I grewup on dirtbikes and rode in Germany for 10 years, but she is a new rider and I don't think it would be good for her in crapping conditions.
