Trikes and RoadKill

Observation.
As I was driving home from work in my truck and noticed a Trike behind me. After a short time, I saw a dead squirrel/oppossum/cat/skunk,raccoon/rabbit/groundhog/turtle/armadillo/muskrat/beaver/dog in the middle of the lane. I drive directly over it and none of my wheels touch it. I looked in my rearview mirror and Trike man steers left around the dead mammal and partially over double yellow line. (no oncoming traffic).
Since the Trike wheels occupy the right, center & left portions of the lane, he would most likely further squash the varmit into a flatter pancake unless he changes lanes.
On a motorcycle, one would steer around it (left or right while staying in the lane. Generally, I like to avoid all mammals, dead or alive on a motorcycle.
Would this be a general disadvantage for a Trike? not as much maneuverablitiy as a motorcycle?

I thought trikes used car tires on the back? If I could not swerve without going into the other lane I would try to hit it with the back tire instead of the front. If it was small you might be able to get it between the front and back, kind of like straddling it with the car.

It's a fundamental disadvantage of any 3 wheel (3 track) vehicle. It’s difficult to avoid road hazards, I’ve heard pot holes suck.

JOOC, which kind of three-wheeler was it: two in the front (e.g. Spyder), or two in the back (e.g. GoldWing conversion?

My aunt won't ride pillion with my uncle anymore since he converted his bike to trike. She noticed that it was many times more uncomfortable because of the additional bumps that couldn't be avoided.

I think the rule of thumb is if you can eat it in one sitting you can go ahead and hit it. If not then take avoidance measures. i.e. Squirrels, rabbits, maybe a ferret...go ahaead and hit it. Dog, big cats, racoons, deer, take extrordinary measures to avoid hitting these guys!

I can vaguely see the allure of a trike, but it doesn't tug at my purse strings at all. I would like to know what type of trike (Sypder or Goldwing/HD conversion) as they seem somewhat different in their application. To directly answer the question - I would agree that this is one of the many detriments of trike-ownership.

I'm not a fan of the servi-car style trike. You don't gain much in terms of stability IMO and this is the reason three-wheeled ATVs bowed out to four-wheeled ATVs.
A reverse trike (let's call it the Spyder) is a different beast. I've ridden a couple and they are quite stable. With standard car sized rubber and a suite of electronic doodads, this becomes a viable winter vehicle (there's a guy locally who rides his Spyder year round - no small feat with the weather we get).
A couple of guys ride Urals year round but they seem to do it more as a weekend recreation thing (not unlike guys taking their D-P bikes up a snow covered trail) where the Spyder guy actually commutes.

Dude? Eating dogs? OK I understand eating big cats, racoons, deer but dogs??
I have covered a few snakes, flattened squirrels and once a skunk (YA thats is a bad thing to do
) All I have to add is; Avoid if possible! Seems that the trike just had a bit of a harder time avoiding the road hazard.
