Interesting that the V-35s will fit either way?

Funny thing is I've seen this done before with the v35's - so it's not that uncommon of a mistake.

Maybe if I reverse the V35 bags on my Wee, then the bags won't scrape in a real hard leans.

Besides, the bugs will hit the red reflectors and not get smeared all over the shiny silver front panels.

Who says it's bad Headscratch Backwards may actually be a good idea

I never thought about it before, but I wonder if these bags are designed to go both ways?  They look fine backwards.

I've had V-35's on my Strom for 4 years, it never occurred to me to check this out.  But thinking about it, I think the rail and clasp mechanism is symmetrical fore and aft, so there's no reason they couldn't be reversed.  (Not going out in the cold and dark to the shed where the bike's parked to confirm, though....)

Other than  the reflectors being on the wrong end of the bag I think it may look a little better that way.  More areodynamic looking I guess. Thumbsup

Looks like it would create more downforce in that position.  Or at least wind resistance.  Which I don't think would be a good thing.

the stock saddlebags on the concours 14 will fit on backwards too.  ive seen a few dealers do it.  the shape is pretty much the same, but the tabs that stick out should be a clue...

I first noticed it when I saw the review in this month's edition of Rider magazine.  I noticed the Aprilia had them reversed from the way the Givis are mounted on the Motus.

To me they just look "right" on the Motus, and "wrong" on the Aprilia... but I guess aesthetics are subjective.

I went out to the garage to see how my Wee would look with the V35 bags reversed; it's still fugly.

The bags will not fit on the rack backwards.

While the locking mechanism on the V35 bags is symmetrical, there is a offset between the centerline on the locking mechanism and the 2 support pins.  Which is a d@mn shame, because I think the bags look better when held in the reversed position.  The offset in the support pins causes the bag to sit a little further back when reversed, so the bags have a little more ground clearance.

Sometimes I wonder if I got rooked by GIVI when I bought these bags.  I can't imagine that Givi would intentionally design the rack so the bags start to scrape at the same time as the peg feelers.  The Suzuki bags, which are probably made by Givi, sit just a tad higher.  The V35 bags take a special rack, and I bought mine when they just came out for the Wee.  Angling the racks ever so slightly different would create a good bit of extra clearance.

I sometimes wonder if I didn't get an early model design flaw, that has maybe since been corrected.

The Givi support rack for the V35 bags is different for every bike.  The Mana fitment must be intentional.

I'd happy run around with them on backwards if only Givi made a mounting kit for my CBR250R.

Sadly, the only ones I've ever seen were custom mounted.
