lucky. If he was good, he wouldn't have been that close to center - plenty of room to hang off the bike towards the center of his lane, ad it doesn't look like he was going all that fast anyway...

Lucky
What a dope. He hit a car that was completely in its own lane.
Riders like him really endear us to the public.

That's the way they teach it at Guzzi school, except the left hand is supposed to be off the handlebar to engage the oncoming driver with a barrage of Italian hand gestures.

This is part of an old 30 minute video from
Fast Bikes
, a Brit mag. They were testing big bore sport bikes (996, TLR, SuperHawk, etc) on all these great roads in France. I remember that part where one of the riders clipped a car when they made repeated passes through the same corner for the camera.
There is a hell of a lot more for "they give us a bad name" crowd to complain about. Thirty minutes of hooliganism and crashed bikes.

He hit that apex a little early, had he hit it later I think he could have avoided that mirror.

My first thought in looking at it was that it was the fog line on the right side of the road and that the driver of the car had come over into the riders lane. Not sure where this was filmed. Isn't it a yellow line which divides traffic from opposing directions and a white line that seperates lanes traveling in the same direction? I was thinking the rider did a good job riding out a bad situation, not one that he created.

Lucky. For the Fast Riders video, I don't really think I'd want to ride with people like that. There were plenty of situations where it was obvious that the cameraman was not skilled (transition from braking to turning).

Based on the plates of both vehicles, I'd say probably Yurp. And most Western European countries use a solid white line to delineate lanes.
