If the weather holds out, I was planning on a ride up to the Sonora/Arnold area next weekend (21st or 22nd) to have a look around at possible accommodations for the 2012 WCRM.
Will be leaving the Bay Area in the morning and returning that evening, so consider it a Day Ride if you will.

I wanted to actually see the hotels/accommodations in person as well as talk to the proprietors if possible before committing

Anyone interested in a day ride?

Yeah, you're weird. Personally, I love to rail through the turns, and if I have to go slow and tippy-toe, not much interested. It's not really the rain that bothers me, I can get gear for that. It's the lack of grip that perturbs, and back to the tippy-toe thing. But hey, to each their own...   Bigsmile

Funny coming from a guy that was shit-scared from a little slush.

Rain is one thing and ice/slush is quite another.

Side note: Not going to make it up there this weekend, weather is not cooperating and neither is my head cold.
Maybe next weekend
