My helmet is due for replacing this year, and Arai no longer makes this model.  Tried to research their new line at the show last month but their rep was blocking access to their display heavily engrossed in conversation with just one attendee for twenty minutes and I got tired of waiting.  If I can't reuse my face shields I'm not set on Arai anyway.  Their moving parts (vents, clamshells) haven't proven to be very durable.

Any former Quantum 2 wearers here who have made a switch to something else?

When my Quantum-2 was due for replacement.
I replaced it with the RX-Q. The Hi-Viz one.
Appears to be an exact fit.

Unfortunately I wasted two Hi-Viz RX-Q's with in a two week period.
One on the track and another on the street.

So I recently purchased an AFX Hi-Viz FX-95.
Not as high quality as an Arai.
But the fit is almost identical.
And for 1/5 of the price of an Arai; I can forgive many short comings.
I can't wait until Spring to get to use it.

whoa yeah...

for me, my head, the Q2 was pretty darn good. But the one that is now GREAT is the Shoei Qwest. The Q2 had some gaps at the top that didn't fit as well as it could. Also had a hot spot at the forehead that needed some gentle "spooning".

The Qwest? no adjustments whatsoever. Perfect fit. snug as could be, everywhere. Flippin awesome really.

So that's my head... yours? Hey I'd at least try one on, it's possible you'll have the same experience...

good luck with it!

Learned today that my shields will only work with the Profile, and fit was a no-go.  I'll try a Qwest next visit.

Look for bargain shields in the Classifieds at some point in the future.  Did try the screamin' yellow RX-Q, but it smushed my forehead.

I too loved my Quantum 2 and just replaced it with a C3.  I also replaced my track helmet (Corsair) with an X-Lite.  I tried on an RXQ to replace my Quantum, but by the time I would purchase a tinted shield for the RXQ, I was almost at the cost of the C3.

I too am getting close to replacement time for my RX7-RR (or whatever that model is) but with the cost of Arai these days, I'm going to look around.  The helmet that is at the top of my list right now is the Bell Star.  Very good reviews, available "Transitions" faceshield and lower cost.

I considered a Shoei 1100.  It appears to be a very versatile and high quality helmet for the money (compared to the Arai RXQ all all-rounder).
