A lot of stuff has been beating me down these last couple of years but he ain't one of em. Still love getting out for a ride on old Bill the Cat and today was just another one. With the temp right on the zero mark I knew well enough to dress for it. Heading up the West Saanich Road to the top of the peninsula I could see a nasty black cloud over Saltspring and as I got to the airport it started snowing. A few miles more and I was totally engulfed in the fluffy white stuff and it was actually starting to build up on the road. Around the top and past the ferry terminal I came out the other side and enjoyed the rest of my ride south to my cozy hole in the wall. With the bikes' pooter flashing the 0.0 at me I heeded the warning and kept a good eye out for those slick black ice spots and painted road surfaces that can sneak up on ya. Old Arthuritis was sure skawking from my fingertips tho and I truely could have used that well missed hot tub of mine.   Cool

Awesome Doug, did you see any other bikes, stop for pie  Drool ?  Not a chance of riding around here, old man winter came back with a vengeance this week, but we were making the best of it today  Mean while the MG sits by the fireplace in the basement, valves adjusted all new oil in the drive train and engine u-joints greased, just waiting patiently with about 4 coats of wax on it. In the meantime the dirty old KTM is in the shop waiting for a new air filter and a valve clearance check and thats about as close to riding a motorcycle as I am going to get for a couple of months  Sad  I did get out for a ride though

Go Doug Go !! ...  Bigok

So many years I have ridden up West Saanich, stop in the old coffee shop at the Deep Cove Marina, then Lands End Rd and a quick dart on 17 then meander back down Central Saanich area. In the old daze, we used to stop at Hannigan's Burgers ... but likely before your time. And in really old days we used to go to that pub ... stone house something out by Swartz Bay. A pint, a burger and back on the road. Anything more than a pint led to severe acting out on Central Saanich Rd ... which of course was near the Prairie Inn ... ugh ... you getta my point !!!  Dr. Zorko and I are lucky to be alive given what we used ride !!  Embarassment

Glad to hear about your ride buddy ... you need to take some pics cuz as far as I can figure it, you may be the only ST.n'er riding in Canada today !! Actually, I could have ridden today. We have so little snow here. Temps are a bit cool but that crap they spray locally would keep me off the road with anything but my 97 F150.

Wow. Amazing stuff Dave ... You are a hell of an MC rider but I suspect your true calling is on those sleds. From my limited time riding with you I can see it is so close to second nature. You make it look easy. It ain't.

Guzzi by the fireplace. Well, that's just sick. Next thing you know, you'll have poor Liz  sleeping by the fireplace and the Moto tucked in bed beside you. Definitely some issues there. Lol

That's awesome that you could get out for a ride rocketToad!    Twofinger

We're socked in here like the next ice age is coming.

Well, quite.  Safety first after all.  Lol

That's the obvious place to store it.  Can't think of a better spot for a Guzzi in the winter.

Do be sure to put some plastic down for the drips though.  We all saw what it did to Bubba's floor.

 Bigsmile

Happy new year all.  Spring will come someday or I'll start Idling my Diesel some more...

I has gotten "up" to -24 at our house now. Calm for the time being...

No run for me today (or for several days, by the looks of the forecast), below -20 I can't keep my glasses from freezing over Rolleyes

Well, even I will have to say that the bike remains parked as there is snow sticking to the ground around here today. With the bugger landing on my foot a few months' back, it still is a bit sore and I sure as Hell don't want it happening again. Lol

I eliminated any possibility of snow for the rest of the season here...tonight I installed a new Moose plow on my ATV.

'Course, when I was in the garage working, we got 5mm of rain and the temp climbed from 2 or 3 degrees up to 9...it was actually colder in the garage than outside.
