No, but we can (re)move pics that don't belong in a thread, be they bike or OT related. "Keep the PO shit in PO" is the thought here. Isn't your playground down there big enough??  

I didn't see the picture myself, of if I did I can't recall what it was. Obviously it was out of place or Ken wouldn't have tossed it.

It was an anti-war poster, linking Bush to the disfigurment of a Marine.  It was a powerful statement.

So how come these haven't likewise been deleted?

It did not make me uncomfortable, the pictures were not the issue, it was the political message that I felt to be innapropriate for this forum and this thread. Just as I delete innapropriate pictures from some of the other picture threads, i feel that it is my part as a Mod to keep a thread inthe correct forum, and I do not think that a single piicture in a 120+ page thread warrants moving the entire thread. I just felt that that picture belongs in PO, not OT.

again, it wasn't the picture (as I have incredible respect for the soldier in the picture and his bride), it was the message that doesn't belong in this forum.


I think that you need to look at the purpose of this forum, versus the PO forum, big difference.

I saw those pictures too.  There are many that get posted in the wrong place that get missed.  If no one complains, they may get left.  Life isn't perfect.  There are also times where posts get "moderated" that don't seem fair.  However, the moderation is usually pretty mild around here.  That's part of what's good about STN.  Most people moderate themselves.

Please do your part to keep they "moderation" moderate on STN.

Sorry, I moderate as I best see fit, if you prefer the Political slant, why do you even leave the PO forum?

The way I see it, I moderate not only to how I see fit (and with private discussions with other Mods and UFO), but also do react when many other members feel that a line has been crossed.

I post here as a member because I like it, and feel that overall most members are fair, which is exactly why I pretty much stay out of PO, because I do not agree with how many there act. See, I made a choice, and I stick to it as a memeber. I could be down there calling people names, but I prefer to enjoy my time online as a member.

You are welcome to call me whatever names that you like, I am man enough not to care. I feel proud of my views, and think that I teach my daughter to be fair and not insult others. But she knows that many other people do not choose to live like that, many people really enjoy insulting others.

Maybe because the first one was a "powerful statement" while the others (that you listed, but I don't recall seeing before) were trite and/or funny?

And we generally moderate OT, but not PO. PO is the cesspool of STN. OT is still for people who don't want to mix with the bottom-dwellers
