Gender neutral? Hardly.
Children are taken from parents because someone objects to the kid's name yet these two dipshits are allowed to continue fucking up this kid with their moronic assertions that they are raising him gender-neutral? I don't get how asserting your own personal prejudices by insisting that the child wear a girls blouse is gender-neutral or denying the kid the right to wear skull-print or utility-type clothing but buying him a sparkly pink girls bathing suit falls within the gender-neutral spectrum.
Gender is biology. What these fucktards are doing is a sociology experiment using their own child.

Yeah, saw that earlier - creepy beyond words. That said - his gender 'wiring' will hopefully self-correct, and he'll begin to define his own identity as a boy. In the meantime, his folks can be put in a Skinner Box.
I'm for pitching in and sending him a tonka truck.
Because for now his folks have set him up for having an Aunt Clara.
Narrator: Aunt Clara had for years labored under the delusion that I was not only perpetually 4 years old, but also a girl.

Really? You have some insight to this?
I think the parents in the article are taking way too far. A child is not a specimen in a petrie dish. Parents can teach their offspring tolerance for the differences in people but part of growing up is about finding your own way with some guidance from those parents.

I read this story the other day, and yes, it's a head scratcher for sure.
But after seeing a picture of the mom and the kid, it became quite clear: they are weird looking cowboys in an in-bred sorta way. Sorry, no photographs. I am too lazy to look for it now.

I'm betting a case could be made that this is a form of sexual abuse.

OK. My post was a fail. The point I was trying to make is that they probably feel the same as you and I and don't want this to become the stereotype of how they raise kids.

How is this worse than raising a child in a religious extremist household, or many other things that happen to kids? Worse shit happens to girls around the world when they are beaten into being quiet and submissive property.
While a little out there, this woman is just trying to make her kid happy without limiting him. The article said she's stop if he asked.

So lets say the boy identified as a rabbit and wanted to dress up in a bunny suit, eat rabbit food and crawl around on all fours. Would a parent indulge the child to make them happy then?

Better than forcing him into being something he's not.
You don't want to hear the horror stories of gay teens raised by religious extremist parents.
Or really any female for that matter. I wish my parents would have let me do "guy" things like build computers or even use the fucking riding lawnmower.

Maybe as a lesbian couple they didn't have the resources to give him a positive male role model, so they made up this "gender neutral" idea to compensate. I support not using rigid gender stereotypes, and gay parenthood, but I don't think they did their child any favors. If he ended up deciding he was a girl, would they have had his gender reassigned in surgery?
Maybe they should have kept his species secret too. "We're gonna wait to see what animal he decides on."
Disallowing cargo pants and skulls is just wrong.

While I wholeheartedly agree with most of your post, I have a big problem with the last statement. A child would not know that he was being used as a lab rat if his life was happy. He wouldn't even understand if he knew, at that age.
Parents are the supreme beings to a young child.
The parents weren't even giving him full choice. No Barbie and no cargo pants, and probably other restrictions, is stacking the deck.
