in all the usual places north between Pine Jct and Woodland Park, especially so just north of Deckers.
Still, it was great to get out for a ride somewhere besides "down here"
and a bit of wildlife here and there

Yeah, it's the time here in CO - I've been out a lot the last weeks, and sandy everywhere. Is the Ninja 1000 your latest bike?

I did Deckers just before Christmas and it was covered in sand. The South Western roads however are in pretty good shape.
Highway 50 between Canon City is completely clear.
Highway 9 between Canon City and Hartsel is clear with zero traffic this time of year. My buddy and I rode that the other day and I don't think we ever had to overtake a single car on that 45 mile stretch.
