Tiger 1050 Question

So this bike has the same motor as the Speed triple 1050 correct? I hear the speed triple is an absolute hoot of bike because of the engine.  How is the tiger's engine tuned in comparison?

They are the same mill. The Tiger is slightly down on power stock, mostly due to being more restricted through the airbox and exhaust.  Triumph compensates by installing a smaller countershaft sprocket in the final drive.  Ridden back to back the engine feel is vey similar.  Uncorked the Tiger is about on par with the stock Speed Triple on a dyno.

That's where the similarities end however.  Each bike offers a very different riding experience (their both good).  The Speedy feels agressive, sharp, exposed, compact, and somewhat harsh in comaprison to the Tiger.  The Tiger is feels more relaxed, tall, roomy, and compliant compared to the Speedy. The Tiger offers better weather protection and luggage options. The Speedy has the ssa and hooligan bravado.

I've owned both and they each have very different character.

I agree with 1000lbs.  Very similar engines but very different end results between those two bikes.
