395 in south central Oregon...nothing quite so desolate in my area (I've never in my life ridden roads so straight for so far...).

I guess if you require twisties to enjoy a road, then you will have a very limited riding area.

Yes, they are.  Kinda the whole purpose of this thread, eh?

The weird thing is, these roads can still be an interesting experience.  Not from a "railing through the corners" point of view, obviously, but...well, as I said, I'd never before ridden a road that ran so straight for so far as 395 through the desert in southern Oregon.  It was actually quite interesting to be out in the middle of that huge, flat plain, without another soul in sight...the riding wasn't great, but the experience was rather neat and I'm glad I went that route.

I got snowed in at Klamath Falls back in 2009.  The next day was a big push to get to Denio Junction on a tank of gas because the 2 towns in between had busted pumps.  I remember looking north up 395 as I passed it and saw absolutely nothing.  Got to DJ to find their pump was busted as well.  I'm on fumes at this point.  I had to go north to Fields in the hopes of finding fuel.  Absolutely nothing but desert on 204 as well.  Found fuel and a porta-can.  Too bad I had to go the opposite direction of Winnemucca to get it.

Here's 140.  A long road.  Passed maybe 2 cars before I got to Denio.  Nothing out there...but scenery and peace and quiet.

Somewhere in the middle of the Baja Penninsula.  6.6 gallon Acerbis tank sure proved it's worth that trip.
