I have found a great deal on a used Aerostitch on CL. And the seller has said that I can give her a small deposit and she will send me the suit to try on and if it doesn't fit I can send it back. Anyway.....the cost of shipping it here to Canada is retarded and if it doesn't fit it is a retarded price to send it back from Canada.

What I am hoping is that there is a member who lives in the Watertown NY area or maybe Buffalo NY area that I can have it sent to and try it on. Anywhere where it's not more that a 3 or 3.5 hour drive for me. I would have it sent to the post office but I have to buy a PO box from them, they told me they are not UPS.

Oh, and UPS, Fed Ex ect are pretty pricey, I am just trying to keep my costs down as much as possible as I am trying to save my scrilla for my trip to Alaska this year.

I don't mind throwing some coin( for fuel, I drive a cool ghetto 91 Honda Civic!) and a few hours of my time to save hundreds on a 'stitch.

Anybody out there help a sista out??

Can't help you out from here, but did you post this in the R6 forum as well?  Might get more Buffalo-OH eyes on it.

Perhaps USPS's "General Delivery" could work???

Think about adding "upstate New York" to your title. Good luck.

When I drove to Watertown last week to pick up some Mermite bags, I was told at the post office that if I wanted to have stuff shipped there, I would need to buy a PO box. I DO have a friend in Binghampton that I use for shipping stuff, but it's a 10 hour round trip drive for me,I am trying to shave many hours off.

BTW, I called and spoke to a UPS customer service rep on the phone and she assured me that the seller could ship the boxes USPS but they would be delivered to the UPS customer care center. So thats what I did, on her assurences. Needless to say, UPS refused the packages at the door, and it was a huge eff-up,thanks UPS, but in the end I had to pay to get the post office to release the bags where thay had been sent back to from UPS.

So I paid shipping TWICE on the same item. I paid the seller and then paid again for each box/package. But I digress......

A friend of mine ordered a stitch and he had to pay the post office here 110.00 in taxes to receive the box. Sometimes you can sneak past customs and sometimes you can't......this is what I am trying to avoid. Easier to sneak it in the car, way easier still on the bike, of course.

Having said that, I DID have my bike ripped apart at the border last year. The guard said I seemed " too happy" asked if I had been drinking...!! and flagged me......idiot....him not me....

This looks similar to what I use.  There's a little gas station/convenience store not 2 km from a local border crossing which does a landoffice business as a parcel depot for Canadians...they accept from UPS, Fedex, and USPS, all without a PO box or anything (which is good, because UPS, for one, won't deliver to a PO box...).

I've received everything there from letter-sized packages to a transmission for my Spitfire...one time, I ordered two sizes of riding boots from a retailer, tried 'em on, and sent back the ones that didn't fit, no problems.

It's funny...maybe because I live in a rural area, but everyone seems to use this place.  Lots of businesses, too.  The depot had to build a new shed to use as a warehouse a few years ago,and they also have one of those steel shipping containers--the place is always full of parcels, and at $3 per, they don't do too bad.

Hey, Kootenany, I have heard of that place before. I never would have remembered it or what it was called without your link, thanks. The only downside is I try to avoid at all cost driving through Toronto. It is the worst experience EVER.

Ontatio, province of bad drivers.

That's why I was looking for Watertown, absolutley no traffic heading east and a very quiet border crossing.

But, again ,thanks! I will investigate it.

Plenty of places offer the same service. I use Freeport Forwarding in Champlain, Ny.
$5 per package. Same routine as cbiusa. Put your phone number on the order, they call you when it gets there.

Nice.  The place I use (in Colville, WA) doesn't do this...i have to track my packages to know they've arrived before heading down.  I've learned to always ask for a tracking number (and also an invoice on the package, for the Canada Customs agent...but I always try to take paperwork with me for each expected parcel as well, as so many places forget this...).  I try to group my orders also, so I can pick up multiple packages on one trip across the line.

Living here in the sticks, this kind of service is invaluable--local retail pickings are sparse, so online shopping is popular.
