I just heard about this new shop in South San Francisco; it looks pretty cool!

It looks like you can reserve a station in advance to work on your own bike, which includes a lift, fluid disposal if need be, Craftsman tools, etc (I don't think you *have* to reserve a spot, but I guess it's in case they get busy).

You can also take classes (or teach them!) or get hands on help working on your bike.

I've got to go check this out, even if I'm not spinning wrenches for a little while yet.  It looks kinda like a TechShop for motorcyclists, which is a little piece of heaven for me.   Inlove Inlove

They left a postcard on my Triumph when it was parked in Point Reyes Station a few months ago.  Have been meaning to check it out.  This could be really useful for us apartment dwellers.
