So this begs the question:
When one has an animal that needs to be put down, what is the correct way? Is the vet the only option, or can the animal be put down using any method that assures immediate death?
Obviously a few of you are doing great jobs at publicizing these acts of animal cruelty- but when one needs to put the cat down, what does one do? Rely on the vet? What if one can't afford it? Only the shelters do it for free.

Depends on the person. We certainly couldn't pipe/shoot/break the necks of/etc our own cats that loved us for 18 years. We preferred going to the vet and having them quietly pass away in our laps.
But that's not what this thread is about.

A well placed no doubter is acceptable with cause. Don't need a vet for that.
Unprovoked, unnecessary punting (ok, place kicking) ain't so good.

whats funny is that the cops may have had this punk on their radar for awhile and have tried to get him on other criminal charges. this one is a slam dunk!
kinda like al capone, cops couldnt nail him on mega crimes, but by damned the irs got him over simple tax issues!
this guy is definitely a dirtbag. quick death for a valid reason i think is acceptable, but this is senseless abuse and violence. im glad he admitted to doing it in the past with his 'all the time' comment. gotta love self-incrimination.

You do what you need to do, as simple and painlessly as you can.
Has nothing to do with this thread though...I want to get a Pug and name it Nightmare.
