My welcome kit from my BMW-NA membership came with a pamphlet from Markel.  One point in it resonated with me:  they don't advertise on TV which keeps their costs down.

Anyone insure with them?  If so, did they cost less than others in your market and has the service been decent?

I've never used them, but they gave me $50 to put a link to them on my website. After finding "nothing bad" about them on ADV, etc, I agreed. Which reminds me, they either owe me another $50 or I need to pull their link  Smile

They were no cheaper nor offered better coverage than any other offering here in Michigan for me.  I stayed with Progressive for the fifth year now.

I checked their rates when I bought my GSXR and they were no cheaper than Geico or Progressive for the same limits.

I've had them for about 7 years.  Here, and for me, they were the cheapest around.  My premium has also gone down every year as well.

As always, there is no way to say what will be better for you since we are all rated differently due to location, bike, age, credit score, handsomeness, STN post count, etc. So you'll need to call or go online and get a quote.

That said I've been nothing but happy with them.

I've been with them for over 12 years. They were very good to me when my '95 GPz1100 was stolen (total loss) in 2000. They're not quite the cheapest rates for me, but they're close, and I trust their service. Very friendly and helpful over the phone, which is more than I can say for Progressive or Geico.

I quoted with them, and they were typically $30-$40 more per year than Dairyland.

I've been with Dairyland for several years. Not only have they been decent, they are based out of the town I live in. They're a division of Sentry Insurance, which is a major employer here. Gotta support local economy! I like calling customer service and getting someone who lives down the street!  Bigok
