Long live the Muscle Car Wars!

The Lingenfelter Signature Series 2 Camaro now boasts a serious 600hp out of its supercharged LS3 V8 engine. The tuners added a Magnuson TVS2300 intercooled supercharger system, fuel pump voltage booster, their own in-house high-flow intake, Corsa stainless-steel exhaust and fuel injectors to achieve that number.
Lingenfelter will provide a dyno report upon completion of the work as well as adding a three-year/36,000-mile warranty.The Signature Series 2 also features a set of bigger Brembo brakes to keep the power in check, a body kit, level 2 graphics and a set of 20-inch Lingenfelter forged alloy wheels,

The refreshed 2013 Shelby GT500 now has an output of 650hp, 600lb-ft of torque and has a top speed of more than 200mph.
Total weight comes to 3,850 pounds and it also stays exempt from the gas-guzzler tax.

Challenger will get an Eaton-sourced supercharger kit in 2012 that will bump up their output towards the 540-570hp range.Dodge's new line of SRT vehicles will run a factory-option supercharger for their 6.4-liter HEMI engine that will put out as much as 570hp.


I can't wait to see how these compare with the BEST of the BEST.

The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will have 580hp and 556lb-ft of torque. More impressively, however, is that it lapped the Nurburgring in just 7:41.27.
With Magnetic Ride Control, a full complement of electronic management functions, and a full factory warranty (that includes track use!!!!  ).

THIS is the one to beat.

I love horsepower, and I love the new Camaro, but after driving a new Kia Optima hybrid for five days last week and putting in 8 dollars worth of gas well....you can have the Camaro bro, give me the light gas sipper!

I prefer my non-hybrid.  She's not new, not that technologically advanced either.  But you don't really want to listen to the radio, as the V-12 is music of it's own.

Nostalgia is fun, but give me something that will handle, accelerate, make 500+ HP on pump gas, idle correctly, and not overheat going down the street.

All of which can be accomplished to whatever degree one wants-without $1200 license plates, $3000 a year insurance, etc etc etc.

The point around which I'm rambling is that, the Greater Automotive Industry feels confident enough in the near term to offer some really extraordinary specialty vehicles.
The car "hobby" has always been a lucrative corner of the economy.
Whether you're hot rodding an old Buick nail-head or tarting up a late model Maxima with Stillen goodies, or designing a lightweight lithium pack for your Prius,   the auto industry ain't dead yet!

Fast is relative but I would say a 145hp bike that tops 0ver 140+mph is plenty fast!

You can have some serious fun in the cheaper versions of these cars as well.  My 2012 Camaro SS has the FE4 suspension, and absolutely rocks on the twisties.

426 hp aint nothin to sniff at.
