Off all your post I will only take issue with the wording of this.  I've had 3 single sided swingarm Triumphs, two 955 and the current 1050, none of the adjusters have seized.  With a total of 173,000 miles between the three of them.  I am not known for cleaning bikes  Bigsmile


They only started to grease the hub assembly at the factory on the 1050's and prior to that they left the factory with no grease at all. I had to strip the hub down on both mine as they both seized.

Indeed, no manufacturer is immune from making a Friday bike, it is how they deal with issues that is remembered long after the bike is sold, especially if the response they give is poor.

Hey BBB, I know full well what you are talking about on seizures.  On my 02 ST  the rear hub had to cut off the large ring nut off because it had seized to the hub.  Had a similar problem with nut holding the triple clamp together.  All told I had four or five other nuts that seized.  Although it changed torque specs I put antiseize compound on just about every nut I took off that bike.  It was still a great bike!!!

Ride a DR650 probably about 70% of the time, its just alot of fun on the roads around here in Southwest VA.  Have had the Triumph Tigger 1 1/2 years 12,000 miles and 0 problems. Doubt I would ever have another Japanese street bike, really love the Triumph and the Aprilia, which has had 0 problems so far as well.

43k miles on an '01 Sprint, only issues were throttle position sensor and warped front rotors. Apart from that it was bulletproof.

'10 GT with 5k miles and....front rotors were warped from new...prolly bad metalurgy on one or the other. Replaced under warranty, all is well.
Fit an finish is far superior to my '01, as is fueling.
