7:30p - grass had a dusting of white. Nothing on the asphald/cement or parked vehicles

Well, just finished shoveling 16+ inches of snow from my drive. The last 40 or so scoops were accompanied by the F word  - damn my bad back and fat gut.

another busy week....so was at the office Friday at 3:30am.

Not much snow on the ground - it was snowing but it was so light and icy it was more like sleet. It was pasted to the truck forming a layer of ice though.

The reports of the coming storm had most people staying away from the office...it was a Friday. It snowed all day though, it just didn't let up - and though the snow was light still, it never stopped. By mid-day it was coming down pretty good and the flakes were bigger.
When I got home Friday afternoon - there was a fair amount of snow (12"-16") and the drive home was a sloppy mess.

Got out the snowblower (corner lots suck   ) - in the time it took to chow thru that much heavy wet snow, another few inches fell. The news said 2" to 3" per hour was coming down around our place, and it looked like it.

By the time I turned in last night, it was still coming down hard (stopped after midnight sometime here) and it's time to top off the snowblower tank and give it another go when I get home.

Another 3-4 inches on the drive after shoveling late last night. Yay - more shoveling!  

Looks like it will be a while before my road get's cleaned and I can get the bike out again . It's getting sunny out now, so there will be some melt freeze cycles, which always makes an ice arena in front of my drive.

I just got the Husqvarna buttoned back up and ready to take on a long offroad cruise... that might have to wait  

Our streets never got plowed, but the school across the street usually gets enough traffic to get the ice pack off in a few days. But...we're across from the fields, so that traffic is a long block away. To get out, I paddlefoot down the sidewalk a few houses down before I can get in the street.

Our house faces south,so at least the driveway and sidewalks will melt - our neighbors across the street will have icy driveways and snow covered lawns for weeks

Same here, although it can be interesting  

There is a slight hill on my road, and the water from the melting snow runs down the curb in front of my house. Then it freezes, so I always wind up with a 2-4 foot section of ice or packed snow. So I need to blip the throttle to get speed to coast over the ice to the middle of the road.  Helps to throw some salt on it for grip too.

245 miles to lunch and back.  Damn, I can finally razz someone south of me.    Now, I just wish we had some Waffle Houses up here.

I flew out of DIA on Thursday right before they started cancelling flights. Hopefully much of the stuff will be gone by the time we make it up there from Austin on Wednesday with the moving truck. I am afraid that I may have to clean the driveway off before unloading, our driveway faces east and is on the north side of the house so shadows could hamper the melting, plus the driveway is sloped so any snow on it will be a problem. I guess that I will get to move the bike over from my friends condo later in the week.
