I've had my Jeep Rubicon for 2 months now.
Today was the third time someone hit it while parked and took off, no note, nothing.

You would think a bright blue Jeep would be noticeable.
The damage is 'just' cosmetic (scrapes) but that's not the point.

Is this an LA thing or does it happen everywhere?

happens everywhere (Sadly)

I've had my Tacoma not 1 year. About a month ago I noticed the door ding of all door dings I have ever had. Dented in a full inch on the left rear quarter panel. The deformation is about 10" in diameter. Thanks a fucking bunch, anonymous asshole. Must have happened in a parking lot with the slanty parking. And hell, I park away from other cars usually.

Within a month my first bike was totaled while parked and the replacement was hit so hard I had to replace the kickstand (and it messed up the front fender, but still usable). Different parking lots.

Ugh, that is fucking annoying.  Sorry man.  I've been fortunate with my car, only a few minor items and I've had it for 5 years.

On the other hand, some fucker KEYED my ST3 2 weeks after I bought it.  On the tank.  I've let it go, but it's a really good thing I didn't see the guy doing it.

My brother's first bike was repeatedly molested (no, not in that way) when he lived in one particular neighborhood. Maybe he'll chime in with the story.

Someone also tried to break into one of my saddlebags one time when I was visiting him.

My R1100R has a twelve year old Odyssey Batteries decal over the place where some dickhead with a key and some free time wrote his initials (R.Z.) on the right side of the tank about six months after I bought it.

"Nobody on the road but me."

Yeah a gentleman friend and I have watched people hit my car with their doors. He politely asks them not to do that. They apologize automatically (not meaning it of course) and keep on loading their kids, groceries, whatever. He then uses his 'voice of authority' and this usually causes people to be a little bit more sincere in their apology as they suddenly realize they may get their ass kicked.   Bigsmile

It is unbelievable how people can't manage the space around them. Sorry to hear of your banged up car....   Sad

Happens wherever cars park. Some people are honest and leave a note. Once, someone smashed a wing mirror and left a note on my car, offering to pay-giving me her ex-husband's phone and address. Never did trace her.

I don't ride anywhere my bike is going to sit outside unattened, where there are non-riders present.  Sure i go on long trips where it is outside a hotel room, but 99% of the time i ride and come back the same day and the bike never leaves my sight.

Yes, i have had cars run into.  No one ever leaves a note.

Proly a good suggestion.

Repainted wife's BMW car for $2000 a few months ago, it now has drag marks on both the hood and roof from people putting their groceries on it, opening their car door, and dragging their shit off her car.  WTF!!!??? Mad2 Mad2
