What soft luggage did you order, I am quirious since i have a 2003 ZX6R.
I bought it from another member off the twtex.com site. I think it is the Frank Thomas brand sold at cyclegear. Straps will have to mount over seat. I haven't put it to the test yet. I bought the bags, tailpack, and tank bag as a package deal. Your ZX6R will have different mounting points than my ZZR.
I'll prboably go the Givi route this year too.
Thanks for the other responses. I like the twisties but not a kneedragger so the centerstand should not be too much of a problem. Tank is like 4.5 gallons which is plenty in my opinion. I'll be ready to stretch my legs at 200mi anyway. I just ordered a Michelin Pilot Road rear tire and will get it installed Sat. I put 10K miles on last ride in a year and 2 months and I plan on doing the same on the ZZR.
