From the write-ups it sounds like an absolute blast!! I sat on one at a dealer 2-3 weeks ago and it fits me so well.
I was wondering if any ST-N's have purchased on or got to take one for a spin? If so, what were your impressions?
The only negative is the PRICE!
-- Man, do I have expensive tastes.

One review (onewheeldrive.net) said the reserve light came on between 80 and 150 km!!!
I really like what I read, but a 50 mile tank range?
They report 24 - 37 mpg.

That was a 2005 model, the 2007 (first time in USA) has been improved. Cycle World in their full test averaged 38mpg and with the new bigger tank, says it has a 190 mile range.
I really am thinking about getting one, now I'm not one to ride a spec sheet ( I after all have a Duc!), but it is just a little bit disappointing that this motor isn't up to par with the old 999cc from Ducati (130 rwhp) let alone the one in my St4s (114 rwhp in Motorcyclist magazine) as it "only" makes 103 rwhp. Which is a bit less than my old TL1000 v twin from 1997. Which was 10 years ago...
But everything else is so right. And it looks insane. And I'm Austrian so I should get one out of national pride!

From the LA Times....
Quote
At least the bike's fairly fuel efficient, thanks to the Keihin EFI and a catalytic converter.
I got about 200 miles on a single 4.8-gallon tank,
which is made from urethane instead of metal or, as KTM has been using on its dirt bikes, nylon. Not only does the urethane tank allow KTM to carry its Transformer-like bodywork through to the tank design, it's nonporous, so it also meets evaporative emissions requirements.
So I guess it's back on my list. If Cycle World can get 38 mpg, then I can probably get 40 - 45 mpg.

I sat on one at a local dealer yesterday...they had two of them, one black and one orange.
I liked the looks, but prefer the extra suspension and seating position of the 950SM.

Compare the wet weights, you might find the power-to-weight ratios alittle better for the SD.
And yeah, I too can really see myself getting one...and emediatly handing my license to the nearest traffic cop
