I first want to thank Scott and Holly for allowing me to do the Kaneman thing for the night.  I really do appreciate it.  The roads that Scott and Holly took me and Jeff(?) on were nothing less than spectacular.  A wonderful but hair raising ride on the uber twisty Route 26 was the Coo-de-gras (I am sure that is not the right spelling).  The next day Scott and I rode to Starbucks for coffee and food and then to a Buell/Harley dealership.  I ended up wishing Scott a nice day at work while I took a XB12Ss for a ride.  I took it to the Lowes next to the dealership, turned around, parked the bike, and picked up my Buell bag. I then headed to Gettysburg and took a few shots.  Headed south east and picked up 137-138 from 30 and I was amazed again that Scott can just pick the best roads.  Found my way to 95 over the Del Mem Bridge through Salem on 49 and home by 4:40 pm.  Here are some pics.  Thanks again: Scott, Holly, Doug, Sam, and Ken for sharing the road with me for the day it was wonderful.  Over 1200 hundred miles for 3 days.  I will post more of the trip in the days following but I am burned out.  Here's lookin' out. Oh well my files are too large.  Forgive my ignorance about posting pics.  How do I shrink the pic to get them on here?

Shrink them to a decent size (800x600, 1024x768) on your PC, then upload them to a free photo sharing service like PhotoBucket. PhotoBucket will generate the IMG tags needed to display pics in your posts. You don't want to upload them to the STN server directly as attachments.

So, did black Motoguzzi make it home okay?

Yes, he called me when he got home.

Here's where his riding "buddies" sucked....

Four of us headed off to Morgantown together.  We discussed heading south down 219 to 286 which would put us in the Indiana, PA area.  About 5 miles before the 219/286 intersection, we saw a friend of ours (Jesse) heading towards Clearfield.  Not knowing if he saw us, we pulled over to wait for him to turn around.  There was no need to try and catch him, he was hauling!

Anyhow, we got back on our bikes and started to head south on 219.  John, on the Guzzi, didn't make it far because his kickstand switch failed and killed his motor (he was bringing up the rear).

With about 5 miles left on 219 before 286, we passed a few cars and became a bit fragmented.  In stead of stopping at 286, we headed about 1/3 of a mile and realized we were missing one.  We turned around to head back to see if everything was OK w/ John on the Guzzi.  We thought we made it all the way back to the spot we last saw him and concluded he must have taken a left and went 219 in stead of staying straight on 286.

So, we turned around and took 219 to see if we would ever catch him.

Well, we didn't go far enough backtracking to find John and he was broke down further north on 219 near Clearfield.  He said it took him nearly an hour after the help of people passing by before he got going.  Then, it acted up on him again around Indiana.

John, WE SUCK!   Sorry to have left you behind.

Good to read.  My friend and I pulled over and offered to help watch him fix it.

Alright Chris---glad to hear you got to Gettysburg and found 137/138!  Thumbsup It was a pleasure having you over for the night, and that moment when we all stopped and just whooped and cracked up after the awe-inspiring Rt.26 was priceless! (Glad you got the Buell bag too.)

Garry's advice below is good for posting pics---but if you need any more info, just email or PM me. I'd be glad to help you (it seems a little complicated at first, but it's easy once you get the hang of it).

Scott

John...I just want to add my apology to the list.  This blows our "no man left behind" perfect record.  From now on we make sure there is at least one Japanese bike behind any Italian bikes that happen to be riding with us  Lol  Seriously though we really thought you had made the left staying on 219.  Next ride, your lunch is on me.

Other than losing John, great event.  Thanks Garry, great job!  I just wish I could have made it up on saturday to meet and talk to a few more of you.

Thanks for stopping to help.  I wanted to thank you on-line, but couldn't remember anyones name.  I also want to thank the group of BMW guys, and the guy in the pickup who stopped. I owe you all a good lunch.  Sorry if I seemed cranky, I don't mind working on the bike, I just can't handle the heat anymore.  Good thing I had on my firstgear overpants cause I sweated so much my jeans were soaked.  It looked like my incontinence briefs had sprung a leak.

I learned I need to add one addition to my tool kit-- my reading glasses.  I can't see a *(&^^%damn thing up close without them and working up close with electrical connections was really tough.

Doug, RideWV, and James-- no worries.  You did everything you could be expected to do on that rabbit warren of roads.  It was an easy fix  (easier the second time Wink  ).

Funny, I just got the bench lift up in the garage and thought "I'll never have to bend down again to fix a bike.  Cool."  I jinxed my own damn self.

It was great seeing all the bikes together.  Now I can limit my wish list to a Buell, a multi-strada, a Bonneville, a Paul Smart, a KTM, a 748 . . .

You people aren't really helping things, you know.

Thanks again, folks

Another FANTASTIC Meet and Eat!

I had a fun time and it was nice to see old faces and meet new ones.  One of these days I will get to be able to talk to more of you all.  Anyone get a final head count?

Next time I'll ride my own bike though.  That Blackbird is soooo not made for a person of my stature!

Oh, and riding behind a KLR with 8 lbs of aluminum foil wrapped bundle of hamburger is a BAD idea!   Crazy

And with that I leave you all with this:

I tried to count the bikes around 12:30 or so, but got distracted by people talking to me in the parking lot. I figure about 110 bikes and since there were several pillions in the crowd (especially from Kissell Motorsports), I'm guessing around 120 people total.
