I haven't seen a post like this on here so i thought I would try something different, I am trying to create the ultimate summer motorcycle riding playlist playlist I am planing a few three day weekends and want to create a long list of music. I think if everyone contributed we could discover some awesome new songs, and also a few gems from the past we have forgotten about. I am open to all genre's and years of make for music, in fact I encourage everything from bluegrass to punk as I want a diverse playlist.  Lets shoot for mostly upbeat music but something calm and relaxing is good also to slow things down and unwind.  In short the only rule is would you listen to it on your ultimate ride?

I threw in a few in no order to get things started, feel free to add one or a bunch of songs to the list.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Aint no Easy Way (with a name like that of course!)
Bob Dylan- Hurricane
Bob Dylan Highway 61
New Radicals You get What you Give
AC-DC Highway to Hell

Allman Brothers Band midnight rider
Meatloaf Bat out of Hell, (why not!?)
blues Brother Rawhide
Snoop Dogg and the doors Riders of the Storm
Garbage- Lick the pavement
George thorgood -Who Do you Love
Golden Earing - Radar Love
Jack Ingram -Love You
Rolling Stones- Route 66
Kill Hannah -Lips like morphine
Kings of leon- red morning light
Kula Shaker- Hey dude
Motley Crue - Wildside
OAR- I feel Home
Sigur Ros -SaeGlopur
The Bryds _Ballad of Easy rider
The Rolling Stones Brown Sugar
The rolling Stones -Start me up

Nice! - Playlist name = "SpeedingTicket"   firedevil  I haven't heard some of Ministry's stuff in quite a few years.  I must dig it back up.

I sampled Wolfmother on tonight's ride through some twisties.  Enjoyable.

I've always liked U2's Johsua Tree for Slab or Semi-slab.  "In God's Country" is perfect for those lonely reservation roads near 4-corners.
Aside from that, some punk music like Rancid or NOFX, or some Save Ferris or Bosstones (ska)
A-ha's "Take on me" makes my mpg go way down for some reason.  Lol

Country-tinged, but I pulled this playlist ("40 greatest road songs") off bittorrent

01 Willie Nelson - On the Road Again
02 Roger Miller - King of the Road
03 The Allman Bros. Band - Ramblin' Man
04 John Denver - Take Me Home, Country Roads
  05 Johnny Cash - I've Been Everywhere
06 Asleep at the Wheel - Get Your Kicks on Route 66.
07 Hank Williams - Lost Highway
08 Kathy Mattea - Eighteen Wheels And A Dozen Roses
09 Alan Jackson - Drive (for Daddy Gene)
10 Brooks & Dunn - Red Dirt Road
11 Merle Haggard - Movin' On
12 Steve Earle - Copperhead Road
13 Hank Snow - Ninety Miles an Hour (Down a Dead End Street)
14 Lucinda Williams - Car Wheels On A Gravel Road.
15 Jerry Reid - East Bound and Down
16 Alan Jackson - Mercury Blues
17 Clint Black - Nothin' But The Tail Lights
18 Roy Orbison - I Drove All Night
19 Lee Ann Womack - A Little Past Little Rock
20 George Strait - Amarillo by Morning
  21 Highwaymen - Highwayman
  22 Montgomery Gentry - Speed
23 Bobby Bare - Detroit City
24 Jo Dee Messina - Heads Carolina, Tails California
25 Rodney Crowell - Leaving Louisiana in the Broad Daylight
26 Dwight Yoakam - Guitars, Cadillacs
27 Trisha Yearwood - On A Bus To St. Cloud
28 Merle Haggard - White Line Fever
29 Bobby Bare - 500 Hundred Miles Away From Home
30 Martina McBride - Cry On The Shoulder Of The Road
31 Asleep At The Wheel - Hot Rod Lincoln
32 David Ball - Riding With Private Malone
  33 Ricky Skaggs - Highway 40 Blues
  34 Terri Clark - A Little Gasoline.
35 Dave Dudley - Six Days On The Road
36 Junior Brown - Highway Patrol
  37 Little Feat - Willin'
38 Julie Roberts - Break Down Here
  39 Steve Wariner - Drive
40 Keith Urban - Where The Blacktop Ends

Of course, I had it on shuffle on my player with Thrill Kill Kult, System of a Down, the "40 greatest drinking songs" playlist and a bunch of other miscellany - made for an interesting soundtrack.

I was listening to this one yesterday and was again struck by what an awesome song this is:

Mark Knopfler - Speedway At Nazareth

Great touring playlist material.  Thumbsup

Edit, while I'm listening to Mark Knopfler now it occurs to me that the following also have a place in the summer touring playlist:

Long Highway (somewhere at the early morning beginning of the playlist)
Coyote (fits the theme)

Excellent choice! (of course I'm partial since I live a few miles from Nazareth)

From that album, I'm also partial to "The Last Laugh" with Van Morrison.
