Absolutely.  We have a meet & greet each year and a few organized rides.  It's a bit early to plan them now though.  Hulked Up is the man in Region 6 because:
1-I said so and i'm bigger than you.Bigsmile
2-His organizational skills are amazing.

The East Coast Meet in Sparta, NC is the big one planned for next year. For some odd reason it's posted in Region 5.Shrug Check it out HERE

Keep your eyes open, there are always rides and events being posted up. We had a Meet and Eat in Clearfield, PA for 2006 at Denny's Beer Barrel Pub. I believe 100 or more bikes showed. Hope to do something like that again in 2007.

Welcome Joe.

Rides taper off when the temps drop but some of us are nuts enough go out in the cold. Weekend rides are typically posted a few days in advance unless it is a big event.

I do the Dragon and surrounding areas every spring. When it's closer, I'll post up. Probably taking my daughter with me this year.

That's because the Eastern STN Rally includes Regions 4, 5 and 6 (everything east of the Mississippi) and the 2007 rally site happens to be in Region 5 this year. The posts were in Region 6 when it was in Vermont in 2005.

I will organize another Meet and Eat at Dennys in Clearfield for 2007 and am starting to consider dates, but it's early yet. Dennys seems worthy of a second visit then hunt for some place new for 2008. Variety and all that...

No doubt there will be many rides planned a month or less in advance in both New England and the Mid-Atlantic.

I'm hoping to have a Catskill, NY ride in, maybe an overnighter, before Summer. Gonna need some help finding an anchor place. Anyone?

And there seem to be three or four main groups of riders posting day rides in Region 6:

- New England
- NoVA
- Eastern PA/MD/eastern WV
- Pittsburgh-Morgantown-Wheeling

I know there are some people in northernwestern PA and upstate NY. Maybe you guys can get together and plan some stuff in that part of the world.

I like to do a early season Meet & Greet and an end of year ride in the Mass. or Conn. area, but the weather gods have not been kind to me lately.  Maybe we'll try another one in 07.

In the season I've been leaning towards 3 day weekends of riding in the best areas:  Green, White and Adirondack Mountains and western Maine.  Those will get posted up with about a month's notice.

As Randy & Hoss said there are always rides being posted up and you are invited to post up ones you are doing too.

If you judge by the post count Region 6 is the second most active area on ST.N, after the West.  There is a lot of activity here, just not right now.  Glad to have a new person involved.

Welcome aboard. Great group of guys here.

The best time on ST-N anyway is late february... people get antsy, have too much free time on their hands and start bitching about anything. Earlier this year was comical...

I could not have found a better place to meet people to ride with. Seriously. I've made some friends that I can't wait to meet on the road again...

Now I really need to replace the bandit I wrecked last year..

Unfortunate for me Sad, I do more lurking than riding here (let the daggers fly).  This is a great site, but I seem to be too far from this ride and that ride (for my own comfort).  NC is outta the question, and even DC, to quote the ol saying from NYC, "You cant get there from here" (here come the "pussy" remarks).

I just checked the calendar, and it is full of birthdays...are rides ever posted there?  Just wondering.  Maybe I will start a Fredericksburg Area Ride Link?

At any rate, I KEEP coming here to see whats happening, and there is a LOT happening.  I highly recommend this site to anyone and everyone who rides.  Whether you are close enough to make a lot of rides, or too far to enjoy the rides, this is a great place to check out on a regular basis.

Is there a tentative date for the Dennys ride yet?  We're planning a Deal's Gap ride either the first or second week in May... it might be cool to do both on the same trip.  Allentown to Clearfield, down to the Gap, and back to Allentown.  I just don't remember when exactly the Denny's ride was last year.  What do you think ZZR12?  You and the Doc think you might be up for it?  It's about 1600 miles according to Streets and Trips.. although we won't do it all on the highway, I'm sure.  Now, that could be a fun week...

That will be nice.  It will give a nice buffer and preview to ESTN.

I'm planning on coming up Saturday for the Meet and Eat.

Hey -- does ST.N have a regional events calendar?  That'd be sweet -- we could schedule collaboratively.

I agree...a regional calendar of events would be nice.  I dont know about the rest of you, but it can be bothersome have to sift thru threads trying to find out, and keep up with, the things/events/rides that are happening.  THe club I belong to has faded quite a bit, and thus I look for a new outlet.  A calendar has my vote.

We do have a national calendar for now.  I would suggest anyone organizing an event to post it in the calendar.  I also like the idea of regional calendars.

Well, I might just try posting on the national calendar, and see what happens?
