So I dropped the multi off for the 12k service and as I was signing the estimate everyone on the shop floor gathered around a 1098 and a guy in fatigues.  Turns out they were taking PR pics for Ducati as the lucky bastard was the buyer of the 1000th 1098 delivered to a customer.  Don't know if it was worldwide or in North America.  And the guy is an airman at Dobbins AFB to boot.

The also had a 998 with just under 10k miles for sale.  The two bikes do look much more similar than the 998 and 999.  Hell I'd take either of them.

When I thumb through a DNA brouchure in 50 years with my grandkids I can say "yep, I was standing by the MVs while they were taking that picture."

Rock on Ducati and rock on Air Force guy with 1098 #1000!
