My hat off to alsworld, as you must be blessed with supernatural powers if you can get that seat back on in 5 minutes.
I can get mine back on in less than a minute, usually. Having a long "T" handle allen wrench helps.
I didn't know that you didn't know where the connector for the GPS power was at. It's up under the right front of the fairing, kind of behind and to the right (as you sit on the bike) of the headlight as I recall. The connector looks a lot like the one for the factory heated grips.
Nothing like some timely information to help a brother out, eh?

VTSprint,
no, no heated grips as of yet. I've considered, but living in Florida now, and moving to Texas in a few years permanently, I cannot justify it so far. Does this happen to refer to a Throttlemeister install with heated grips? It differs between heated grips and not. I can help a little there, but have not experienced heated grips myself.
There are many times that I wish that I had the heated grips on my 2000 Sprint here in Central Texas, so much nicer than bulky gloves. When I get a new Tiger, that will be one of the first things that I do.

+1
I think I may have been wussified by mine. I use them even when it's in the high 50s. I can wear thinner gloves, and on those days when it's not cold but for some reason
I'm
cold, they can make the difference between being comfortable or being chilly.
I don't think I'll own a bike without them from now on.

Reread my post. I do know which connector is for the GPS. I installed a Garmin Zumo 550, not the Triumph 2610 Streetpilot kit, so I didn't have the wiring harness to match up to the Triumph connector. It's an odd-looking Euro-style connector and my local Canadian Tire didn't have a female end to match it. I guess I could have tried to order the harness separately from Triumph to get the female connector, but that would have been a two week wait and probably considerable expense to get what should be a $3 part. I also didn't want to cut the male connector off and splice directly to the wires, just in case I do run across the proper female connector one of these days.

The Triumph GPS harness connector was around $130 when I looked at getting mine done. Instead, I bought a hardwire kit from
Cycle Gadgets
($50 with a cradle, $25 without) and a guy sent me a plug to put together. You probably don't need the kit, just the plug, right?
I don't know where he got them (or who it was it was so long ago), but if you do some looking, you should come up with a place to get what you need. The plug I got had 6 pieces I had to put together, which I think have to be ordered seperately. Try a Google for "Econoseal" and you should come up with something.
Here are the part numbers for the Econoseal Parts
(1) Part Number: 174354-2
Description: 070 ECONOSEAL MARK-2 CAP 2P
(1) Part Number: 174355-7
Description: 070 ECONOSEAL MARK-2 P/CAP 2P
(2) Part Number: 173706-1
Description: E-J MK-2 070 TAB CONT LP
(2) Part Number: 172888-3
Description: EJ-2 070 RUBBER GREEN
I have MS Word document that provides instructions for putting them together if you need it.
Edit:
AES
, a British company, has the connectors. They're a couple of dollars (pounds) each, plus shipping. They come with everything you need- you don't have to order the parts individually. That link should take you directly to what you need, if you're interested.

Hey, thanks for the tip Red. I'll look into getting an Econoseal connector. At least I'm on the road with the install I've got now as I'm going to the Black Hills in two weeks!

Update:
I put a deposit down on the new 05 and hopefully will be picking it up May 18th if all goes well, apparently they are waitng for a part on a safety recall, I assume it is the drag link bolt but I phoned the shop late last night and most folks had gone home.
I suspect I will add the high handle bar kit and a differnt windscreen but I will ride a couple thousand klicks first and see how the stock equipment is.
What is the general feeling as to the best windscreen?
Thanks David

I've got the stock 05/06 screen as well as the "aero" screen that is stock on new Sprints. The aero screen looks and works much better than the stocker.
I'd bet that you won't need the taller bars.

The "right" screen is different for all. At 5"10" with a 31" inseam I used a Laminar Lip on the stock screen and the was the "right" set up for me. YMMV
Here's a photo of the Corbin seat I had. "Gunfighter". Not recommended for long distance 2 up but again, it was the "right" one for me. (on and off with a key, too) The "Gunfighter & Lady" doesn't allow you to use the factory hard bags.

Thanks so much for the picture and info, but I am a bit confused now, I checked the Corbin site and it clearly states that the gunfighter and lady will work with the Triumph bag

They must have changed the design from the early 05s I guess. The original requried removal of the rear grab rail..
