Thought that I’d post this in OZ section, hoping to be first post back on the new board! I took a ride through central Victoria with mates last weekend. We’ve unofficially named this the OOMOO run, after a certain wine that we overindulged in the first time we did the trip. Two of the guys are into old bikes – Andy and Steve both have early 70’s Norton Commandos, although Andy took his 30+ year old BMW this time. Steve did prior OOMOO’s on a 1952 AJS single cylinder!
Anyway, we meet up at Andy’s place in Ballarat.

Here's Steve on the old Norton Commando

Rode through various back roads through tiny towns into the wine growing areas around Avoca. We pulled up for lunch at the Moonambell pub, where these BMW trike conversions were parked already.

[FONT="]After a delicious steak sandwich it was off towards Dunolly then Maryborough, the roads were deserted and it was starting to warm up, approx 30 celcius at Maryborough. We fuelled up and rode on to Bendigo via Maldon. I love these deserted backroads.

Flash format the new site and nice to have an Aussie section.
Thanks for the photos Jules.
I'm an avid reader of other riders adventures, and as much as I enjoy the overseas flavour of the reports, it's terrific to see Aussie riders on Aussie roads.
That Norton looks as though it's just out of the box. Very tasty.
I look forward to more posts Jules.

I'm not up on my Aussie topography. How far are you from the Blue Mountains?

Hi Orson

About 550 miles from the Blue Mountains.

Here is a link to a good web site for travel distances in Aust (press "Maps" tab) and last minute accomodation deals etc.

Cheers J.
