I've got some big winter gloves and perforated summer gloves, but really need something for when the temperatures are in the 40's and 50's. I'd prefer something with the hard-armor knuckle protectors. Gel palms would be nice but not necessary. Any suggestions?

I'd say Held Steve's except they don't have the carbon knuckle armour.  Maybe Held Pathers???  If you are up for a glove that doesn't have the knuckle armour I would seriously take a look at the Steves.  The roo skin palm is killer.  And they are very comfy.  I wore them all summer and fall and on one 34 degree morning ride before I decided to get some winter gloves
