Well The Lurker wants coffee. He thinks that the La Grange place doesn't have enough room to sit inside. He also believes that coffee should be somewhere not so far west. The Lurker thinks coffee should be at Mountain Mud in Muskego, or at Stir Crazy in Rochester. We need to vote and figure this out. You can also vote for La Grange and make The Lurker ride farther than he wants. The Lurker knows FRZY wants to ride but The Lurker thinks the road conditions will be crap with all the melting snow and salt and wetness. I may be at where ever coffee is a little late. I have to get some things done at work beforehand.

So what's it going to be?

I agree with the lurker. as much as i want to ride i think the roads aren't going to be good for that. so, lets go to stir crazy. I'll postpone the LaGrange ride for 1 week. I'll also update the ride plans over at grouprider.

so thats my vote

Ok Stir Crazy sounds good. I'll say the time should be 11:00 am, to let the sun work it's magic and warm things up. They should still be open right?

I say 11am because that will give it time to warm up and I might be able to show up by that time. I'd be really late if it was at 10. A word of warning also -- I just went out for a scouting ride and both ways I could get to Stir Crazy were completely snow covered at points. It's very windy today and the snow is blowing over the roads where ever there are large empty fields. Janesville RD/ Hwy L, for example are completely snow covered east of Big Bend. It doesn't look like a plow went through and the cars are just packing it down and it's ice. I chose to turn down crowbar Rd to see how that was and I had to make the turn at walking pace with 2 ft on the ground then I realized that that whole road was snow covered. I had to go feet down until I found a place where I could turn around. It would not be fun to hit one of these patches going 55-60mph and realize that it's all snow and ice.

So there ya go.

I would imagine hwy 20 and 83 should be ok. I don't know about the longer stretches that go through farms fields though. Especially south of Stir Crazy. That's why I suggest meeting later.

Sorry folks, I'm feeling too blue to caffeinate with y'all. I'll ride later, 'cause I need to change the oil on Hi-Ho Silver, but I'm not good company.

Hope lots of folks make it out today!

I made it though the ice in the parking lot out front. Hwy 45 and hwy 20 were clear except for water draining across the road in a few spots from melting snow.

I forgot my camera today, grr!

Looked like you had a good turnout, I saw lots of bikes parked on D when I went by on the way to my favorite curves on all the Honey Creek/Lake roads.

The ride got the oil good and hot, 'though my feet were lumps of ice, and now there's clean synth in the Strom. Cleaned Hi-Ho Silver and covered him 'til the next ride.

Well, first I overslept, so instead of 930, I was up at 1030. Still, not bad I was ready to go before 11 (Good to be a guy, I guess).

Suffering, however, was not. Dead battery. This has started to be a recurrent problem with that bike, and it was supposed to be in the Shop already, I did have it on the charger overnight, but to no avail. If I had gotten up on time, I woud've had time to jump it, or bring the battery inside and charge it there (I did that on Satuday, worked fine), but I figured I would not be at Stir Crazy until well after noon.

So, I did some diagnosising, since it was nice out, trying to figure out the issue. Don't think I got it though, so Suffering went back into storage, and Misery is back home. At least the next meet won't be an issue.

Did a quick recon by the Shop too, maybe by tuesday they will be able get bikes out, and I migth get the Beemer back this week.

Oh, and Misery, dispite being abandoned in Storage for more than a week, with the temps in the signle digits, started right away. I love that bike  Inlove

We saw you BJ. Well we just saw a silver top box and couldn't figure out who it was. It had to be someone we knew out riding.

Too bad Joel didn't come. We were going to call coffee at Kletch Perk before choosing Stir Crazy but figured Joel wanted to ride so we made it a little farther away for him Smile

After coffee I went for a bicycle ride by the lake front.
It was really windy and chilly out.

Ok see ya later.

The day really wasn't that bad.  The biggest challenge was finding a gas station where the entrance wasn't ice packed.  I tiptoed into the Mobile at SR20 and I94.  Good thing, my gas light came on half way up there!
