New owner ST3 !!!

Ok, saw a great bike on Craigslist. Checked it out, was very sweet.
2005 ST3 - bought it off of the original owner - title had 7 miles on the od.
Came with Ferraci pipes, Heli bars, Power Commander, Matching rear top box (Ducati/Monokey), and had Power Pilots.
Sounded soooo sweet.
Pulled the trigger - now she's mine
Best part is that it's my color - 'Ticket Red'. (I've only owned red bikes, or painted them red).
Now I get to celebrate every time I climb on.....!

Welcome. I'd bet the dash was replaced. Mine was but even so I'm sure it's low mileage cause those dashes fail very early. Now go rev that baby!

My bike is now at the dealer to replace the dash. It's still under warranty, but still, jeez, waiting 3-4 weeks for the part to ship from Bologna while I can't ride pretty much sucks. BTW, they took my red key to supposedly reset the mileage after they replace the dash to where it was before.

They needed the key to reset the Computer but they didn't do the mileage. I've since heard it's because that wasn't covered under warranty. I woulda paid to have the mileage correct. BTW, I just kept riding until the parts came in.

Hey everyone---please take a look at my new thread here in the Ducati forum, "Underwhelmed by the ST3." Feedback from other ST3 owners wanted!

I rode it in a hard, driving rain and apparently the seals failed. The LCD display was mostly unreadable. As for riding while waiting for the parts, the service guy told me the warranty terms didn't allow that. Once the bike had been looked at and it was determined work was due under warranty, I had to leave the bike.

Yeah, sounds like the company line, which some places choose to ignore.

Gee, I'd expect a sport
touring
bike to hold up to riding in the rain better than that. My Z sure does.
As for the warranty line, what a crock! A dealer tried that on my wifes bike. I told them in no uncertain terms that we weren't waiting and that they could order the part required and I'd jury-rig it in the meantime and replace it myself when it came in. Low and behold, the next day the picked up the bike, fixed it, and the owner himself returned it the next day! Guess where I'm shopping for my next bike.
