My condolences to Bazza for the loss of his followup research into wiring and relays for this setup. I think it can still be found at the Alley, and there's a link on my page to his.

Highly recomended if you ride at night. I tried all the mods and liked the Rowdy red mod the best. It was the best 150 bucks I ever spent on the B-12. One night of riding in a heavy rainstorm convinced me that the 2nd gen B-12 headlights sucked.

Because of the crappy headlights - I rarely take my Bandit out after dark (and it's sometimes irritating to friends that I almost always refuse to ride at night).

So... anyone want to get paid to do this? Bigsmile  I've got quite a bit of experience doing misc modifications on cars (and some bikes) - but they only seem to come out "just right" the 2nd time around!   Lol

(Rowdy... I'm close... just down in the South Metro!)

I thought about doing these on E bay, and then I remembered how much I hate working on bikes versus riding them.

Red?

+1 on the 2nd gen bandit lights sucking.  I didn't do the full Hella modification but did install the EB wiring harness and replaced the bulbs with some nice Sylvania Silverstars.  I don't have any scientific data to back this up but I'd say my ability to see at night has increased 30% on the low beam, even more on high compared to stock.  I don't mind riding at night now.

maybe it's because I just came off an antiquated bike with terrible headlights but I don't seem to have a problem with the lights on my 02 bandit.    Maybe I need to ride with some guys with newer bikes so I can see what i'm "supposed" to have.

Where did you get your eb harness and how much was it?

The EB stands for Eastern Beaver, you can go to his website here: http://www.easternbeaver.com/Home/Main/Products/Universal_Kits/non-h4_kits.html

It should be $46.95 incl s/h.  I bought the bulbs from Autozone.  Do check out Baz's writeup as I found it very helpful Thumbsup
