A question for anyone having the Vstrom with the Suzuki hard saddlebags (as opposed to the Givi aftermarket):  I love the looks much better than the Givi suitcase look but how is the capacity?  Will they hold a full face helmet?  I saw pictures on an owners website.  Ease of installation is impressive but capacity wasn't discussed.  So far no answer to my E-query.  Thanks.

The 2006 OEM luggage won't hold an Arai Quantum full face helmet. We tried with heinee's '06 Dl1000. The Suzuki saddle bag rack completely replaces the OEM rack. Its no more difficult to install than the Givi racks. I don't know the capacity of the OEM cases.

Everything you would ever want to know about hard cases for either V-Strom can be found by looking around here: clicky

BTW, Givi now offers a very attractive 35-litre case called the V35: clickarooni

I'm going with the ugly (but lovable) suit case style E36 or E45's.

When I get a V-Strom, I'm likely to pick up another set of Caribou Cases like these:

I bought a set for my KLR and love them—they're bombproof (Pelican cases) and look great. (Alas, they don't hold a helmet though.)
