How to post mapsource routes in the forum ?

I want to post a Garmin Mapsource route so folks coming to the Borscht Burn can find their way to my house ... but cannot seem to find a way to do so.
Help please ...

If you just want to post a pic of the route you have to do a screen capture from Mapsource and post the resulting graphic. Many graphics apps have this function built in. There is no "save map only" option in the program. If you want to post the actual route (if possible here), I'd suggest using the .gfx file save option in Mapsource. It's a universal graphics exchange format that GPS units other than Garmin can process. MS Streets/Trips lets you save the route and map as a webpage and creates a separate folder to hold the graphics. You can then lift the .gif file, convert and post. PM me if you need a transfer. You can email me the Garmin file and I can convert it to just about anything. hth

If you have the route up in mapsource you can press the ctl-alt-printscreen keys and that will copy the window to the clip board. Paste into a graphics program and save. Then post as any other picture or graphic.

Simple
Sign up for a free acount at
http://www.putstuff.com/
and host the file there for free. Then just post a link here on STN. If you already have a putfile account you don't have to sign up, just use your current password.
