I am thinking of what new tires I will put on the bike for next year.   I would like to consider the pilot powers, but am I high?  What kind of mileage should I suspect?  I need them to last at least 3000 miles and preferably more then 4000.

I've never tried the Pilot Powers, my kid has them on his supermoto they are awsome! I don't know how long they would last on the b12, I've used Pilot Roads and am very happy with them, I can drag the footpegs so see no reason to go to a stickier tire when the suspension isn't that great. I get about 15,oookm out of the pilot roads. Just my opinion.

I'm glad to see a report on the Pilot Roads. I'm considering them as my next purchase, although I have read good things about the Metzeler Z6s.

Pilot Roads? I like 'em on my B12S. About 6K miles out of the rear and 10K out of the front. Excellent rain tire, BTW.

I am probably not a real good guage, but my question would be this:

What kind of riding do you expect to do? If you are planning on trackin it, then the PP's are the way to go. Superslab? Shinkos, best of both worlds? Stradas or M6's.

Seriously, I can drag knee pucks with Stradas and STILL get 4K out of a rear if I am lucky. I only got a max of 1700 out of PP's.

I switched to Pilot Roads when the stockers wore out at 6,500 miles. I'm at 12,600 now and the Roads are holding up a lot better than the OEM hoops. They also have much better traction, wet or dry, and track truer with no vagueness or wobbles that the stockers were notorious for. I'm hoping to get safely to 16K, then I'm re-doing the suspension and adding the Holeshot can and stage 1, but for new tires I think I'm going to stick with the Pilot Roads rather than jumping up to the Pilots, the Roads are just fine for me and they'll last a lot longer. ymmv.

Most of my miles are on the street.   Sometimes very aggressive riding, but still the street.  I have and plan to take trips that are 2000+ miles.  If i had been clearer, I would have stated my goal was to have tires that last at least 4000 miles, but give me the best traction wet and dry.

I currently have ContiRoadAttacks on the bike.  I like these tires, but they seem to be easily upset by tar strips and rain.  The rear has lasted for 6000 miles at this point.

So with these options you are suggesting Stradas?

Either the Stradas or Pilot Roads, IMHO, would be your best bet. ON my aprilia, I got the better milage out of Stradas that I did the Roads. Most of the riding with the aprilia is two up so it wears tires out, but I only got 3K out of a Road rear while the Stradas lasted close to 4K on the rear.

On my Bandit, anything over 2K on a rear is considered bonus miles, but I ride the piss out of that bike and use it on the track as well.

I get about 10k out of my Pilot road rear, and 12-15k miles out of the front. I wont stray from these unless something better comes along.

I run Stratas on my B12 I can count on very nearly 5000 miles out of a rear and 10,000 out of a front.

I like the roads ...only slight downside I is they take a bit to warm up...or they don't hold well when cold.

Pilot Roads here. I get about 4.5K miles out of the rear, but that's really pushing the life expectancy. Double that mileage for the front. Good tire, IMO.

I've got about 4000 miles on my rear Pilot Road and like it;  the tread is still in pretty good shape too.  Got one up front too.

Normally I'd keep riding on it, but I think I'll replace the rear early anyways because I've had a plug in it for the last umm, 3970'ish miles.  After I put it on and took it for a 30 mile test ride I picked up a friggin' nail.  I won't get into a discussion about the pro's/con's of plugs but mine has been superb on numerous trips.  I'll get another PR for it.

Dayum, I don't think I ride like a baby and I DON'T ride it till the cord shows. I change 'em when they get to the wear bars and I get 10K out of a Pilot Road rear and ~15K out of a front one.

Check Avon.  Same milege as the others have posted but my last set wore very evenly.  Never got that "greasy" feeling when being pushed.  Never wanted more grip.    In addition, they also have a road hazard policy now for that nail or screw out there that is waiting in the wind for all of us.  Cant beat that.
