***For those of us that are making it a "weekend" event for the Meet and Eat***

Saturday Night in the Pine Creek Valley of the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania

This is one of the best little jewels in the PA Wilds. I've known the owner of this fine Bed/Breakfast, Restaurant/Bar for years. Hands down the best food in the area and the lodging is like staying in your own little Woolrich/Cabelas nook. He has 10 rooms upstairs each with their own bath. And a lounge that overlooks the dining room for the overnight guests with TV and internet. Room price includes an excellent buffet style breakfast on Sunday morning.

Then a nice ride down to Denny's on Sunday morning, using 414,44, hyner run rd, 120, wycoff run, quehanna hwy,879 into Clearfield.
Since trout season starts on April 12th this year he still has 7 rooms available as of this post for the 19th. Check out their site and the pictures of the rooms etc.. The deck along the pine creek is a popular spot any hour of the day. Tell them you are with the motorcycle group STN., I'm working on a group discount.

We will be leaving the Pottstown, PA area Saturday morning, the 19th, taking a long northerly route thru the PA mountains to the Slate Run area if you'd like to ride along, Or meet along the way, or just see you there! PM me.

See you on the road,

Jerry

I might join you Jerry. Not sure about the ride up, but if you're coming back Sunday I would definitely ride back with you.

Eric, you're always welcome alongside, for any part of, or the entire trip.  Cool Leisa may be off work that Monday, I may take a vacation day as well. Not sure if we are staying out two nights yet or not.

+1 on that.  Couple of things.  [EDIT]

We are also thinking of riding 2-UP, but may have to come back Sunday.  I'm checking with d'Boss.

Possibility (low but unpredictable at this time) that work will get in the way.
Think I'll check their cancellation policy and make a reservation.

Also note my handle changed - I was screwing with some privacy things and locked myself out.

Hey JamminJere... I'm in Upper Pottsgrove, and if you don't mind I'd like to tag along with you on the burger run.

UPDATE....

I took the time yesterday, March 21, to run my backroads route to Slate Run to check road conditions. Surprisingly the Northern Tier roads faired pretty well with all the snow. Very little macadam breakup, and most of the roads were clear of pea gravel. I'm sure a few more April showers will wash the rest of the cinders and gravel away. This will be an out of the way, No slab route, tying alot of great motorcycle twisties together. Checked the route and then beat it home, 410mi round trip. We're really looking forward to the run.

Am I going to show up early, like I did the last time, and still be that last one there?

Is it Saturday yet?  I plotted a route home for Sunday.  Haven't been on some of these roads for years, might even be a few new ones in there, could be an 8-hour ride with breaks included, so might have to hop on the slab somewhere.
Rt 322 to Phillipsburg
Rt 504 through Black Moshannon SP to Unionville
Rt 322 NE from Unionville to Milesburg
Rt 144 SE from Milesburg thru Bellefonte
Rt 45 NE from Old Fort to Hartley
Rt 235 S from Hartley to Beaver Springs
Rt 522 East from Beaver Springs to Rt 11
Rt 11 N to Sunbury to Rt 61
Rt 61 S about a mile to Rt 890
Rt 890 S to Trevorton
Rt 225 E from Trevorton to Shamokin (61 S)
Rt 125 S from Shamokin to Rt125/Rt 209 N
I-81 S 1 exit to Rt 125 S
Rt 895 E to Rt 61 S
Maiden Creek to Oley to Gilbertsville thru Deep Creek to home.

Thanks again to:

FJRSKI! and Becky, Fricksdad, and Molferen for joining us on the ride up to Slate Run on Saturday.  John, I hope you had a good ride and it was worth all the work you did to prepare for it. And I hope your son had a nice Birthday party today.

Frank, Becky, and Dennis, Thank you all for a great time.

Leisa and I got home today around 4pm, traveled up into Elk Country yesterday afternoon, had a great ride in and out of the rain. Today, no rain on the way home... I want to know who that guy was who forecasted just 1/10 of an inch of rain???

I hope you all enjoyed the Manor, Lets get together for another ride sometime soon.

See you on the road,

Jerry

Hey Jere, just saw this now...thanks to you as well for the route.  I live right along Rt 100 and 309 and you took us on roads I never knew existed!

I wish I could have joined you guys up at Slate Run and Denny's but the birthday party was a big success.  Nic had a great time.  I forgot how frightening the Chuck E Cheese "animatronic" band is.

Jerry's taken me on a road I never knew existed and it went right past a house I lived in for a year or two Clap  He has a innate knack for it.
