Well it looks like my 2000 GSXR-750 won't be reaching 300k miles.
I hate damn forest rats !   Mad2

This dash display is actually hanging off of the right side of the motorcycle; down near the foot peg.

Did my nuts do that !? They don't hurt.

This helmet is less than two weeks old. Haven't even gotten the credit card bill yet.

The only part of my body that got hurt was my left ankle.
It got run over by the rear wheel.
At one point I looked "up"; saw and felt the motorcycle on top of me.
Ankle is not not broken. BUT very bad sprain. It blew up to the size of a football.
I'm currently using crutches.
(Skuggi; my cat; apparently couldn't care less. He's just tired of waiting for dinner.)

'Stich held up rather well.

And with this current economy; I don't have $$ for a reasonable down payment on a new motorcycle.  Sad

Dayum! Glad to hear that you're relatively OK.

Fucking deer.

Is the bike fixable? Maybe a streetfighter?

I'd be very surprised if forks, frame, engine, or transmission aren't royally fucked.
But I'm still going to have my dealer look it over.
If by some miracle those items are ok. Then it'll be a winter project.

If its just bodywork and stuff, eBay is rotten with it, and being a gixxer, you have the advantage of the 600 and 1000 gear likely fitting too!

Glad you're okay.  FWIW I recently bought a full set of plastic for my '99 GSXR 750 for $467 on flea bay (shipping included).  Good luck with your project.

Man, that sucks - I was so looking forward to your 300k post Sad

Glad you are OK though.

On a bright note, i was wondering how I was ever going to catch up to your mileage on my gixxer  Lol

And on another note - maybe try Suzuki USA, and tell them about your 250k mile Gixxer. You never know  Shrug

Bummer, but thank god you're a'ight.
I took a spin after work yesterday and with the days getting shorter, it was definetely "Dusk".  Makes me nervous, riding through parkland with lots of deer lurking about.

All bad. Hunters should have unlimited year-round open season on these hooved varmints.  Angry3

ATGATT sure has serious benefits... regardless of your ankle, imagine how much worse this would be without the 'Stitch and other gear....

Your Gixxer looks 100% rebuild-able to me.... here is my current 2003 FJR just after it's deer-strike on the summer of '04:

Looks grim sitting in the wet mud there, but after a tedious cleaning and removal of all the broken items, I was able to salvaged just two pieces of original tupperware: a side panel, and the chin cowling:

About $2300 later.....  the bike sports used 2004 Cerulean Silver bodywork, which plays off pretty well against the original  2003 Liquid Silver tank/saddlebags:

I say if your steering head hasn't been tweaked, your Gixxer should live again!

Rebuild it, and finish up your 300K miles!!!    Thumbsup    Thumbsup    Thumbsup

How fast were you going when you hit the deer?  Like others said, the core of the bike looks ok from the pictures.  Rebuild it...that machine MUST make it to 300000 miles!

Coming home from a 400mi day ride last saturday, I had a doe run out in front of me.  Luckily I was able to avoid it but flashes of the impact I had with a deer last year kept running through my head.  Those moments are not ones I like to relive.   Crazy

I told the police about 50mph.
