Name's Dave. Been riding for 18+ years with some motocross mixed in for good measure. Current two wheeled flux capacitor is an '12 Ninja 1000. Looking forward to some epic rides this coming summer with my brother and his multi-stroodle duc. (Sorry, Dan. Don't have a clue what strada or is but i like a good stroodle!)
Located in S.E. Michigan where stop lights are one mile apart on roads straighter than a .338 Lapuas flight path.

It will be nice to meet some of you in person in the near future as well as sharing info and tips on the forums.

Riding on the frayed ends of sanity!
Dave

Hey everyone! I'm new here so thought I'd start off here.
Well I'm from Canada, and I've been riding for 3 years now, with 38,000km's under my belt. So, I'm still a newb I guess.
I ride a 2010 Kawasaki Ninja 250R SE. I love it!  Inlove
I also have a lil dirt bike I just got that I have fun on in the bush. Smile

That's it! See you all around! Bigsmile

Hi Roadie Vagabonds, Learning experience  here on this navigating a new site, so..expect a lot of wrong moves.
Struggling with Windows 8..isn't helping either  Lol

I have been on two wheels for about 55 years, both pavement and Dirt/mud trail riding and Desert soil racing.

Presently living In California, in the Sierra, between Tahoe and Yosemite.

My style for touring is..start with Liter Race Replica, and modify for Sport touring.
That's Street fighter or dirt, or FlatTracker bend Handle bars, Scotts Stabilizer/Damper,
Suspension internals by Race Tech for rough roads, Sport touring tires (180/55 for tight twisties, lovin Metzeler Roadtec Interact, Z6's and tolerating Z8's, right now.

Every bike has been done differently...depending on how it was to start with.

But this is the general theme in the scheme.

So...Anyone here of the same-ish frame of mind...creating your own Sport Touring bike?, instead of buying what a factory offers?

Another newb here.  Just found you all today while doing some research for a buddy that just purchased a 2012 Connie yesterday.  He will be along shortly.

My current ride is a Darksided 2010 Honda ST1300, which I happened across while stopping in for a new rear tire on my 83' V65 Magna in Greeneville, TN during an annual trip to the mountains.  Went in for a tire, came out with a new bike.   Inlove  Then I had to explain it to the wife.   EEK!  Luckily after almost 20 years together she has learned that almost anything can happen if I am left alone long enough.   Bigsmile

Unfortunately, I spend most of my time "wishing" I was riding instead of actually riding as work and raising my 15 year old kid keeps me busy most of the time.

And, yes I live in South Fla where our roads suck, but they suck all year long.    Cool

Well greetings from the great white north. Beerchug  Well, kinda.  North of the 49th parallel, anyway.

Relatively new ST rider here - about 1000kms on the Connie and loving it.  Will continue to poke around and comment here and there, maybe throw in a pic or two.  Looks like a great forum.  Happy to have found it.   Bigsmile

I remember some years ago a certain female moderator on this site, I won't mention Dante's name, but it is someone that just moved to some furrin country today, did pretty much the same thing.

She went into a small town dealership to get a part for her VFR that she just rode down two states to a BBQ, and came to the BBQ on her new B12S.

You are in great company.

Welcome.
