Drugged wife, got her to agree to TWO new (to us) KTM's!

Love is a powerful drug. We found two KTM SMT's in Oregon, one lowered, and are flying out to bring them back to Virginia in 3 weeks. The caveat is 4 bikes are going up for sale. I have been lusting for the SMT since they came out, and on a whim I added up general values of our current fleet versus the cost of two used SMT's and the figures were persuasive enough to gain approval. Vacation is approved, plane tickets are booked, time to start packing!

Just so you know. We are expecting two things to come from this purchase.
A) A detailed trip report with photos.
B) A handbook detailing what drugs you used and the plan that brought this to fruition. I figure you will sell a million copies in your first year.
Oh, ... Congrats !!!

Congratulations! Sounds like a real adventure trip. But, here it comes, why are you selling some nice bikes that you have. Meaning, are your current bikes not as exciting as the SMT?

Our fleet is aging. We love those bikes but it's always fun to have something new. The VFR and the Super Duke have been amazing, the SMT is basically the perfect combination of everything I love about each bike.
We're selling her F800S and Ninja 650 track bike, she's only ridden the track like twice in the past two years so we'll share the RC51 if she wants to ride.

She Who Must Be Obeyed. It's a British comedy reference to a classic(?) book.

Don't know about the "crazy kids" part as even my gray hairs are turning white or invisible.....
Being blessed with a great wife I have teasingly called her SWMBO as in Garry's reference and seeing Ursula Andress
play the part in an old Science Fiction movie....

Congrats! I have a nice shiny set of Titanium Akrapovics if you're interested...
They are currently sitting in a box in the garage. I'm planning on selling the SMT to fund a more off-road oriented purchase so I put the stock exhaust back on.

I spent about two hours on my sons a couple of weeks ago. Few things came to mind after the ride
- Hoodlum
- If I buy one I should just tape my license to my helmet and mail into the police now and save the chase
- not giving this back to my son
- OHHHH that's how bakes should work
- need one
The ride precipitated me to sell my 950 S and buy something else but thats another post
I would do something with the throttle cam, and maybe remove those secondary butterfly valves I did this on my 990 adventure and it helped smooth out the throttle response
Enjoy them they are nice bikes

I do still miss my 950SM, regardless of my getting the lemoniest of the lemony ones.

Almost home, did the Dragon today. Lots of pics and video to compile and lots of memories made. We spent most of this trip off the interstate and saw much more of this beautiful country off the beaten path.

Keep searching til you find a girl who wants to ride. Then use your phenomenal skills to woo her and bring her up to speed and you'll be riding off into the sunset in some distant land or track.
