Monster 821- anyone have/ridden one?

I saw one not long ago- the 'dark version'.  If there are any riders out there who have experience driving one- would like to get your views on it, especially if anyone has done long rides on one. I really like the look of the bike. Look at one in person, not just a picture.

 I kinda get the impression that this is more of a hooligan/street fighter as opposed to a long distance hauler.

Correct on your assumption.  I wouldn't take a trip on one, as adding bags ruins the look of the bike for me.  But people do, so it really depends on what kind of touring you like to do.  It's super light and nimble, so you should buy it regardless of it's intention
