I have managed to socialize one of the feral stray kittens in my GF's backyard.

He doesn't boogie in fear when I approach him anymore, and he likes to be petted and held.
I got some purring out of him yesterday when carrying him to the little Cat-House I built in the backyard for the kitten brood or
for a wandering stray that needs some shelter from the cold/rain. I put him in it on Sunday night, and the others followed him in
a little later. They spent the night in there the day I finished it.

I just finished it up Sunday, just needs a coat of paint and I have to figure out
some sort of easy in-out door for it.

This morning with the little guy before breakfast.

The Cat-Haus

I have to get that screw out of there. Forgot there was no stud there when screwing down the roof panels. Embarassment
But at least they are using the damn thing! They've been sleeping in there at night and yesterday when it was raining,
my GF said they were camped out in there on a piece of shag carpet scrap I threw in there for them.

Backyard is like a kitten haven right now.

One of the prettier of the litter in the sunshine.
This one is also the biggest out of them all, but not the smartest. That goes to the little black calico one.

Probably with the calico coloration. I havn't bothered to check the sex of them. The other two run like hell when I get too close.
Mother does the same thing, so they've learned from her.

It's sad, they all have to go sometime soon.  Sad
I do what I can for them in the meantime.

Is it just me, or does that cat seem to have a lazy eyelid thing going on?  Lol

Nice of you to care for them.  Is there a spay/neuter strays program in your area? Instead of shooting or using death traps to control the stray cat population, I've been trapping (have a heart) and spay/neutering/releasing so they can live in the wild without repopulating. It's terrible when I have to get the shovel out at 6 AM and clean up a dead cat from the street before the stay at home moms walk their kids. Even worse is when a sick cat/kitten shows up acting strange before crawling under a shed to die.
