-24c here just southeast of Kamloops this morning...again. But on the bright side, it has warmed up to -18 by 10:30AM. I know it's warm compared to the Prairies, but we were promise wet and mild out West! I've had enough of P.M.S.! I want to ride! Very seriously thinking about a new 2wd Ural !!!

Does anyone actually BELIEVE those   "It's gonna be a warm/cold/wet/long/short  etc etc etc" forecasts?

They have a hard enough time forecasting 4 days into the future much less a month or two.

They said warm fall.   They were wrong.

They said cold January .... news flash Sherlock.....  This is Edmonton,  it's ALWAY cold in January.

They're idiots and deserve to be ignored.

BTW  short term forecast    COLD COLD COLD.

...supposed to be 36F here tomorrow, but bikes are completely snowed in and roads are not going to be clear for the while yet.

Tell you the truth,  I prefer today's 8 deg f.  and sunny to being rained on.    I hate rain.

I tried the sled thing. It's very exciting for a few seconds here and there, while you are holding the throttle wide open on a 150hp machine that will not steer with the skis in midair....lol. I found it to be too much like work....always digging out my short sighted companions. They always headed off into deep powder, and I would have to come to the rescue and dig out two machines! LOL
I have a little 340 putt putt...but it does not get used. Maybe if they made road race courses for sleds? Bigsmile

-21c this afternoon and back on the way down (was -27c last night)...forums other than ADVrider are pretty quiet, and I even posted in the politics thread here out of boredom!
I have been spending a lot of time on ADVrider, and the more I am on there, the more I miss my Stelvio! I'm patiently waiting for the new T7 Yamaha adventure bike next year, but I miss the mile eating comfort and cold weather capability of the Stelvio. That engine! I know I will own another one soon.
Still jonesing for a Guzzi V7 Scrambler/Stornello to round out the dirty bikes. I don't mind riding something with dirt capable tires on dirty late winter/early spring roads.

Looks like a fun trip...he has heated seats, grips and clothes! I would like to do that trip on a Ural with my girlfriend...but in the freakin' summer!!! EEK! Seriously, I am hoping to take her up the Dempster with me. It's a beautiful ride.

I was all gung-ho to try out the Snohawk when it was introduced, and I always  wanted a Sno-runner...but the sheer height of the bike conversions puts me off...just like the tall dirt bikes do. Once I get moved I will start riding my little 340 putt-putt sled, and I will keep the skis on the ground. So far this year I haven't even had time to start it!

I just got home from an 11 Km walk over to Cambie & 2nd Avenue here in Vancouver. It was sunny and warm. Simply beautiful.

Well, the Kootenays are enduring yet another winter storm warning. 25cm to come.
Here, on The Island of Women -Isla Mujeres, there is a Cervesa Warning issued for today!
