Lawyers do a lot worse stuff than that ad.

Some rider get killed by a drunk driver you guys would be all about hanging the driver, license or no.

The legal "profession" has gone steadily downhill since those shysters started advertising.

If you don't have a license you shouldn't be on the road.

I'm not sure I can empathize with the "victim" in this case.

It's not really about empathy.  If you cross the street outside the crosswalk, no one has the right to run you down because of it.

Headscratch You doon't need a license to walk across the streeet. Big difference.

This is the way our justice system works.  Everyone is entitled to representation, whether guilty or innocent.  While I agree people shouldn't be riding without the license or insurance (where required), I would not say that they should be denied legal representation because someone has presupposed that they are guilty.

Jaywalking laws got repealed?

You got my point, though, I'm sure.  I never said the guy should escape all blame, just that we don't have the right to just tee off on someone because he "shouldn't be there".

Thank you.  As a motorcyclist it's already hard enough getting a lawyer even when you're completely 100% not at fault.  Now to have fellow motorcyclists bitching that they don't want lawyers to defend motorcyclists that may have violated a possibly completely unrelated law, well that's just kind of dumb.  If you don't want a lawyer, fine, don't get one.  But bitching about having available lawyers for you or other motorcyclists, makes no sense.

Of course, of course... everyone is entitled to due process. Ok, my point was pretty simple, I thought....

Joe Shyster gets on tv and is basically saying "Hey, you f'd up and I can get you off, no worries!", not "Hey, everyone makes mistakes. Maybe I can help you." No, the tone of the entire commercial was "no insurance, no license, no problemo, pal!" It sounded more like one of those "no credit? No problem!" bullshit used-car sharks.

That's the really the point. I guess I wasn't clear.
