This could turn into a New Years eve day coffee meet ride then. You know I have a back up plan.

I'll be updating the thread later this week if the weather forecast is calling for snow on the 1st. I'm still hoping to get the ride in, but it is winter.

I had to make the call, I didn't want to have then open for us and then no one show. Also the other places I called on were not going to be open NYD either. So it just seemed like the right time to change plans.

Now watch and see the forecast will be all wrong. It will be 50 and sunny and I called off the ride  Mad2

We should be at Kletch Perk. Alterra will probably be too early for me (I am done work at 6am, will want a nap). No idea what our plans are after that, will have to see how much fun H is having.

Just a little weather update for all y'all. Milwaukee (At least the east part of it) is covered in heavy fog. Most of WI is under a dense fog advisory until 9am, and even then I would expect the lake front (Where alterra is) to bee pretty foggy. Roads are wet now, but I expect they will imporve quickly once the sun is up.

Be careful, so I can see you at Kletch Perk, k?

Update on Weather (XSPain's last post) I'll be at Altera on the Lake
http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=53211#FOG
Statement as of 3:49 AM CST on December 30, 2006

... Dense fog advisory now in effect until noon CST today...

Widespread dense fog across southeast and parts of south central
Wisconsin will continue to reduce visibility to 1/4 mile or less
this morning. Conditions are expected to improve by noon as
easterly winds increase and begin to scour out the fog.

In addition... early this morning... temperatures in some areas were
at or just below freezing and this was causing a layer of frost to
form on some less traveled roads... leading to slippery
conditions. Motorists are urged to be careful early this morning.

A dense fog advisory is issued when dense fog frequently reduces
visibilities to 1/4 mile or less. If driving... slow down... use
your low beam headlights... and leave plenty of distance between
you and objects ahead.

Sparky (I'm surprised you didn't get a picture of the one hump camel, damn!) - Nice photos!
Mine will look like dupes of some of Sparky's (I apologize and will attach named locations later).
Thanks to all who attended, I had a good time (hope you did too) and glad to meet all!

Heh.  Yeah. I had asked brighrider about that jacket back around Thanksgiving when I met him and chatted with him for a bit.  Certainly visible. Smile

Anyways, found it a little cheaper here (~$25.00 less):

We all know of John's photographic skills, and it's my contention he doctored the color of his hat. So to get a true representation of the ride and the hat I thought I'd return the hat to it's original 'pink'.  EEK!
