So I went out for a short ride today; left in the morning to avoid the rains.  Ended up riding north on Snickersville Trnpk with the intention of going to the Pie Place for a bite of lunch.

Great weather, little traffic.  Everything fine, until I dropped #4.

I had turned on to Clayton Hall Rd in Bluemont, going to Rt 7.  I wanted to stop to check if the Pie Place was east or west of the intersection.  No good place to stop, so I pulled off on the side of the road a couple of yards short of the stop sign before Rt 7.  I couldn't quickly locate the Pie Place and I was getting hungry, so I decided to turn around and get a sandwich at the store at intersection of CH Rd and ST.

OK, CH Rd rises to Rt 7, the road is crowned, and there is gravel and crap all over the double yellow lines.  Just as I went over the lines, at a few mph, the rear tire move sideways, I put my left foot down which slipped, and the bike was no longer supported.  I let it fall, then turned off the key.  After a minute of "WTF?", I lifted it up.  As I got it on the sidestand a driver (first one by) stopped and asked if I was OK.   Thumbsup  I thanked him and said I was fine.

To the store for a sandwich, then back home.  I found out the frame sliders work.  The only damage, other than my ego:

So the bike is now broken in, no injuries, and no tow trucks. Thumbsup

Bike has dropped a lot of value now for sure. I'll trade you a VFR for it.

How about some riding on Sunday?  We could start, or end, or just hang out and skip riding, at the Jireh Bakery.

hov:  I told the company admin assistant about Jireh, since she has celiac disease.  She tried it and now she is hooked.  She has had no symptoms of any contamination.   Bigok

 Thumbsup

Update:  It looks like Dot will be returning the area next Friday.  She may, or may not, join me for NJMP on Sunday which requires a 4 hour drive on Saturday.  (Kind of depends on when she has to go back to Huntsville and how much work she has to do while here.)  Since I don't want to take two hours next Saturday switching the stupid fast bike to track mode, I need to do that tomorrow afternoon.  Hence, I will be out riding in the morning, then at Jireh Bakery about noon for lunch.  Then home for some quality garage time.   Smile

What a long post to say I will be there at noon for lunch.  Doh!

OK.  I will be there for lunch, but I am really not certain otherwise. Back in from a short walk during which I confirmed I tweaked my right quad.

on yours, you look like a toy rider.

there was NOBODY out there today. i rode on some back roads out to 211, up skyline drive to front royal (skyline was free today), and back home. i didn't have to pass a single car before getting on skyline, a good 30-40 miles of smooth riding. a few gawkers on skyline were quickly dispatched with. i don't think i saw a single sportbike out. it was very strange. Headscratch

all told i think i put 150 miles on the bike today.
